Thinking of You

>> Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Hi Everyone,

Well, my youngest niece is moved into her dorm for her freshman year in college, so I decided to make a card to put into her care package. Now I just need to get stuff for the actual package :)

This Teacher Tools image, with its elementary school look was a great throwback image for the card today. I chose primary colors for the color palette, which echos the theme of the stamp itself and the Lines O Plenty made a great textured background. Since I liked the apple in the image, I chose to do the spotlight technique, and really highlighted it by adding some Stickles. I completed it with the Vertical Thinking of You stamped in black.

And as a special treat (ha ha!) I will give you a peek at one of the new Halloween stamps that will soon be released at DRS Designs.

I used the new Witching You A Spooky Halloween stamp, colored and layered on a yellow circle to simulate her flying by the moon.  I embossed the card base and layered a piece of black card stock that was stamped with the Spooky Eyes background.  The pearl flourish was a good match for the background and I finished it off with a printed ribbon and some die cut bats.  Good and spooky for Halloween!

Thanks for stopping by!

Can I put an order in for a few of those care package cards? Haha..I sent my dd's bff a care package last Wed...two day priority. I found out Friday morning that she was coming home on Friday! Luckily, she got the package before she left. Anywho, great card. LOVE the Halloween creation with the spooky eye bg. Super cute.
