The Last Giveaway....

>> Wednesday, June 30, 2010

Welcome!

Has a month ever gone so fast? I can't believe this is the last winner in our

The winner of our wonderful Shelf of Plants is Lorianna (Comment #47)!
Congratulations!! Please don't forget to email us at info@drsdesigns.com with your full name and mailing address!

Here's the card I made using today's designs~

This is a fun and simple card to make! I started by stamping our Plant Shelf #097K on ivory card stock using black ink. I colored it using markers and layered it with plum card stock. Next I stamped our Open Plaid Stamp #631P using Memories Soft Sage ink on more ivory paper. (For easy step by step plaid directions click here!)
The Get Well Soon is the last line from our Blooming with Good Health Greeting #055G inked with vintage green on a scrap of ivory card stock and layered on plum paper.

After attaching my plaid to a folded plum card I added the plants and my message! I was so happy with it I didn't even think about looking for any jewels ;)

A Giant Thank You to all who have been with us so many days in June - I hope you had as much fun as we did! We hope you'll continue to stop by, you'll want to keep your eyes open for more chances to win (some starting in the very near future!)

Thinking of YOU...

Hi all! Jenny Here!

Congratulations to 1CardCreator (comment #37),
the lucky winner of yesterday's
Stamp a Day Giveaway!
(Don't forget to contact us (info@drsdesigns.com) with your name and address info within 7 days so we can send your prize!)

You have won the Large Silhouette Butterfly #115G which I featured on the card below.

Isn't this stamp beautiful? You can see the Medium version on my blog post from yesterday HERE. Its so versatile and beautiful, looks great stamped on vellum. I stamped it with Versamark on vellum, then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I also did the same with the stamp - Flyaway Butterfly - using it as the trail. Then added a sentiment - Thinking of You. To finish the card, I cut the cardstock with Spellbinders to get the shape of the card. Then used pop dots to attach the teal dot paper to the white cardstock.

Doesn't this look great on vellum using heat embossing? I think so.

Sickday Blues

>> Tuesday, June 29, 2010

Congratulations to Stephanie Zito (comment #24),
the lucky winner of yesterday's
Stamp a Day Giveaway!

She has won Leonard Pig Sickday Blues (G1019) which is the adorably-ill pig featured on the card below.

I have paired little Leonard with his coordinating, punny, sentiment Cured Yet? Greeting (E1015) and colored him and his surroundings to match the cardstock chosen for the card. To add some depth I cut a top-fold card base from a piece of clear cardstock. Because of the transparent material, you can see some of the elements on the inside of the card, but the image block and mat will cover up the personal message.

To add a few life-like touches I replaced the stamped flower with a couple 'real' flowers held together with a brad. Diamond Glaze was spread over the vase and thermometer to create the appearance of glass.

Silver & Gold

I can tell you, in person, this is very metallic and shiny. I took the picture at an angle so it wouldn't blind you. For some reason, I've been doing quite a bit of embossing lately.I had the gold and silver embossing powder out and I couldn't get the idea of a gold and silver striped background and a layered gold/silver spiro oval out of my head. So here's my Gold & Silver all embossed card.

To start, I inked the stripe with the gold and silver inks, stamped it onto white card stock and carefully sprinkled the silver powder, then the gold and heat embossed. Just ink and repeat for the rest of the background.

On the spiro oval, I stamped/embossed one in silver and one in gold then used two different sizes of oval dies to cut them out. I used a smaller oval die for the sentiment then stacked them all together. I punched the three butterflies, inked them and gold or silver embossed them.

Congratulations to

Whisk Woman (comment #37)

The lucky winner of yesterday's Stamp a Day Giveaway!

Yesterday's prize is this great stamp called Gold Icon (H973). I have paired this wonderful image with the Above Par Birthday greeting.

To make this card, I stamped the Golf Icon image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto white card stock and colored it using Copic Markers. I cut out the image and layered it onto a Labels 12 Nestabilities. The Above Par greeting was stamped using black in onto the white background. I added a couple of brads in the corner just to add that extra something. This is another quick and easy card that will really impress that golfing enthusiast in your life!

Congratulations Kate (comment #12 )!

You are the winner of the stamp Happy Moments Happy Days Greeting!
(Don't forget to contact us (info@drsdesigns.com) with your name and address info within 7 days so we can send your prize!)

My card is a quick and easy card that I think looks elegant and classy. I started my card using some blue cardstock for the base. The white background layer was stamped using blue Ink and the Easy Dot Background (H628). The Happy Moments Happy Days greeting was stamped using blue ink onto some white cardstock and cut/embossed using a Classic Circle Nestabilities. I matted the sentiment onto a Scalloped Circle Nestabilities and added the rhinestone stickers to give some added bling! With the addition of the ribbon and some more rhinestones in the corner, this quick card was finished. I love when cards come together so quick and easily.

(Be sure to email your name and address to info@drsdesigns.com)

It's Karin today, and I featured the birthday themed stamp on this card and simply colored in the candles using different color Copic Markers and Bic Mark-its. The plaid patterned background was created using our Open Plaid stamp. Such nd easy technique to create matching papers for any card!

I rounded the corners, added a ribbon scrap and some Stickles to the flame for a little bling. Easy and festive.

Gift Backgrounder

YAY!!!
(Don't forget to email us with your name and address: info@drsdesigns.com)

Hi everyone, it's Bonnie today, giving you a look at the stamp that was won!

I used the Gift Backgrounder, that is today's winning stamp, as my backgrounder and my focal point! I love backgrounders - versatile and fun!

I stamped the Gift background from corner to corner on my Summer Sunrise card base with Orange Zest ink, and then I stamped the background again onto white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

I coloured the little gifts with copics, making sure that the colours were bright enough to coordinate with the backgrounder!

I used one of my many punches (yes, I collect them lol!) to decorate the card and then stamped the sentiment, Wishing You, with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
After tying some pretty red ribbon I was done!

You have won this Best Present Ever Cutie Pie Kid stamp (K650), featured on today's card.

This Cutie Pie Kid was colored with Copic Markers. As you can see, I also used 2 other sentiments by DRS Designs--the Birthday Boy Greeting (E590) and a tag was created using the A Gift For You Greeting (B514). I embossed the background panel with the Spots and Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. Some yellow brads, and hand drawn red dots on the corners of the image made this card complete!

Isn't he adorable!?!?!?

Since yesterday was Father's Day, I thought this image would be perfect for a card for my Father-In-Law. Especially since we got him a new Blu-ray player for his special day!! LOL!

For this card, I used The Ultimate Remote (K292), King of The Remote (C290) and Remote Control Greeting (K288). The background was stamped using the Lines O'Plenty Background (H366). This was such a fun card to make. I love to give cards that make people laugh! Just so much fun!

For this card, I used the large filigree snowflake stamp. I stamped it onto white shimmery card stock and then I mounted it onto purple. I did some dry embossing and sponging. She has won the
Ribbon Scallop 2.5" Mega Oval stamp

YAY!!!
(Don't forget to email us with your name and address: info@drsdesigns.com)
Hi everyone, it's Bonnie today, giving you a look at the stamp that was won!

It is the Ribbon Scalloped Mega Oval that I stamped in Smokey Shadow ink on white cardstock and punched out with the Marvy scalloped oval punch - the pink punch!

And I was so happy to find out that the Happy Birthday stamp fit perfectly inside the Ribbon Scalloped Mega Oval.

I stamped my Soft Stone cardbase using Vicki's Versatile Background in Smokey Shadow ink. Then I ran some Basic Gray cardstock through the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug embossing folder and used pink Prism cardstock along the edges.

The Pink Scalloped oval was cut out with the larger scalloped punch and then I used the smallest hold on my Crop-a-dile to punch the holes around the edge.

I finished off my Happy Birthday card with a beautiful pink silk ribbon!

(Don't forget to email us with your name and address: info@drsdesigns.com)

Hi everyone, Jenny here, I want to share with you my project using the Butterfly Postage Frame:

The Butterfly postage frame was stamped with Memento, then colored in with copics. I also cut out addition butterflies using the same ones from the frame to add around the top of the card and colored them with Copic Markers. I used the Silhouette Butterfly Background and stamped it in versamark to give it a darker touch to the Plum Pudding cardstock. To finish it off I used some Plum Pudding ribbon around the center and added some butterfly trails. :)

School's Out for Summer...

Congratulations to

Grenouille Greetings

the lucky winner of yesterday's

Stamp a Day Giveaway!

You've won our Swag and Dot Mega Circle (H019) that I used here today!!!
(Please remember to email us at info@drsdesigns.com with your name and address within the next 7 days!!)

Here's my project using the Mega Swag and Dot Circle~

Can you believe the kids around here are just getting out of school??? Today was the last day so I brought in a little treat for all the kids to enjoy! Even if you don't like marshmallows (????) you almost have to admit how fun they are!! This year Campfire brand has come out with a new JUMBO size! I just had to grab a bag and since I already had both regular size and mini marshmallows we made up "family's" of them!

These were so simple to make!! After stamping both the Swag and Dot Mega Circle (019H) and the Triple Teardrop Giga Circle (045L) I punched out both using Marvy's mega and giga scallop circle punches. After centering the smaller one on top, I punched a tiny hole close to the top. I put a brad through both layers so I could spin the top one to the side and write a Happy Summer message inside. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture, and my camera isn't working at the moment :(
I also stamped Marty the Marshmallow (424D) on white card stock, cut him out and attached him to the front. All that was left was tying them onto bags of marshmallows!

It was fun pulling out different sizes and colors of scrap paper to stamp and we ended up with a very colorful group!

Here's a picture of most of them ~

A fun project for all ages!

Thanks for stopping by!

Flag of Allegiance

Congratulations to Stephanie (comment #48)
the lucky winner of yesterday's
Stamp a Day Giveaway!
She has won Flag of Allegiance (L449), which is the fantastic flag featured on the card I am sharing with you today.

To tie in with this patriotic image, which has the Pledge of Allegiance replacing the stripes of the flag, I wanted to use 'patriotic colors'. Because I thought white may be too stark for the background I went with red, white and khaki.

The Flag of Allegiance Flag (L449) was stamped in sepia ink, just above center, and then I stamped a thin border at the bottom using Interlocking Star Background (H819). The great thing about all of DRS's Interlocking Borders is that even if you mistakenly overlap when creating the background, it is no big deal because the elements already overlap on the stamp.

As a final touch I stamped In God We Trust (B282) on the twill that is tied around the layered, embossed, red and blue strip.

who's won the Flower & Vine Card Edger that I used here today.

Want a chance to win too? Simply leave a comment on this post and check back tomorrow to see if your name was randomly drawn. For all the rules click here

All of the card edgers are terrific and I use them frequently for frames, backgrounds and for borders. For this card, I first punched the lower edge of a 5.5 x 4.25 ivory card, but left a little on each side to keep the edge attached. I repeated this on a separate strip of ivory. The flower border of the edger was inked with the peach ink and I used the marker to dot the flower centers, then stamped it above the punched border. I punched the same border on two strips of peach and interlaced it with the ivory borders. I trimmed the top of the flower border on the extra strip before attaching it to the card.

The butterfly was also stamped on ivory and cut out. A little glitter glue was dotted on. The upper peach panel was spritzed with bleach before the greeting was stamped with the redwood ink.

Be sure to leave a comment so your name will be in the hat to be drawn for tomorrow's image!

You are the winner of today's Stamp of the Day! Yippee!
Be sure to contact DRS Designs (info@drsdesigns.com) within 7 days with your name and mailing info to claim your prize.

The stamp that Jane P. won is the large original plaid background stamp. That's right... all that gorgeous plaid in the background is done with a stamp... it is not designer paper. That means that you will NEVER have to go to the store to get the paper that matches just right... you can make it!!! What I did was stamp the blue vertically and the green horizontally and This is the look that I got! How totally awesome is that?AND it is so simple to do... I love that I can make my own paper to match! I also used the Girly Swirly Birthday Cake stamp... it is one of my FAVES!

This is the gorgeous background featured on the card I am sharing with you today.

I created the background by stamping the Interlocking Flower Background stamp repeatedly on light blue cardstock. Then I used Copic Markers and a white Gel pen to color in the flowers. I split up the Bloming with Good Health Greeting (G055) and used the upper portion of it as the focal point on my card front. I decorated the bottom of the card with rhinestones and the remaining portion of the sentiment.

I also used a floral Cuttlebug embossing folder, small blue rhinestones, and elegant white and silver ribbon to complete this card. I hope you enjoyed it!
