True Reason For the Season!

As materialistic as Christmas has become, it's important to remember the true reason for the season. DRS Designs Nativity Ornament image (K526) depicts this reason perfectly! On this Christmas card, I've paired it with the "Christmas is Joy" sentiment (G828) which coordinates so well with this image.

I colored the ornament image with Prismacolor Pencils and blended the colors with Gamsol. I added yellow Stickles over the star and added a bow tied with gold DMC Embroidery thread at the top of the ornament.  The background was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, and I added 3 gold brads as accents.   

As you can see I've created this card in non traditional Christmas Colors.  This isn't something I normally do, but I ran out of  red cardstock.  So, I thought I'd also set myself up for the challenge.  I was a bit weary at first, but I'm happy with it's simple design and the way this card turned out overall.  I will, however, be shopping for more red cardstock very soon, LOL!
