Happy Waves

>> Tuesday, March 19, 2024

 Hi Everyone,

I made another card using the fun new Happiness Comes in Waves Greeting, and the whole concept is making me wish I was at the ocean.

I began by making an underwater scene using some fish stamps and a die.  I colored it up using markers and some chalk shading.  I attached it to a background made using the Sand, Snow, Water Lines stamp and wrapped it in some netting.

I'm hosting Easter for a group for the first time since, what I call, the "Before Times" and I needed some invites.  Hence the simple design since I was making multiples.  Just a bunny die and some great sentiments were all I needed. Only 5 more to go!

Here are the stamps I used for both:

Happy Spring!

Happy Easter

>> Tuesday, March 12, 2024

Hi Everyone,

Easter is just a little more than a couple weeks away, and I needed to hop to it when it came to working on some cards.

This was going to be a square card, but it seemed to need something else, so I ended up attaching it to a base with a punched border and some spring like polka dot ribbon.

I masked off a corner of my image panel and stamped the background in multiple green in using the Easy Grass Background stamp.  After stamping, coloring and fussy cutting the Big Bunny Face, I cut a slit in the grass and inserted him, leaving only his ears peeking out.

All that was left to do was added the Happy Easter Everybunny into the blank spot.

Happy Easter all you stamping bunnies!

Hello Winter

>> Tuesday, December 26, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Today's super simple card is for when you're flat out of time and need to make something quick.  Which is me.  All the time during the holidays!

I stamped some of the Simple Pine Trees for the background and added a couple of die cut deer.  I made the new Hello Winter Greeting into a banner and attached it to the top, along with a few tiny snowflakes.

I told you it was simple.

I hope you got everything on your stamping wish list for the holidays!  If not, just buy it yourself right here!

Thanks for visiting,

New Halloween - Danger!

>> Thursday, September 7, 2023

Hello friends!
New DRS stamps!
Here I have made a card using a background that I had on hand, Sponged Lumiere paint in metallics.
The new stamp is: a spooky window. I've added the
Leaning Ghost to it in vellum.

My next card uses a previously made alcohol ink background cut in a strip and a new scary Halloween sentiment.  Also added the Burning Caudron to complete this card.

Thanks for visiting today!

Mr. & Mrs.

>> Tuesday, August 15, 2023

Hi Everyone,

At this point, I think this wedding card making thing I have going on is boarding on obsession...lol!

I sat down to make a much-needed birthday card, but I saw this unused Mr. & Mrs. greeting that was already stamped and die cut, sitting in my stack of unused pieces parts. What's one more wedding card, right?

I used a tried-and-true layout and stamped and punched out the Silhouette Bride and Groom for the image and added some soft pink sponging the sentiment.

It's hard to see the Dogwood Branch background, but it was heat embossed using some glittery embossing powder. I tried for a close up, but it looks great in person ;)

After taking this picture, I realized it needed some gems, so I added them and you can see them in the first picture.

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Toast

>> Tuesday, August 1, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Happy August!

I was in need of a birthday card, so I used the cheerful Party Toast image and took inspiration from his party hat to create the backgrounds for my card today.

Here are the stamps I used:

Of course, I had to use the fun matching Birthday Toast Greeting to finish it off.

Be sure to check out all of the stamps at DRS Designs...
Have a great day!

Army Proud

>> Tuesday, July 25, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick card share to celebrate our military today.  I had to color the Army Proud emblem a lighter green, so that it would show up against the dark Camouflage Background.

I also cut that green background about an inch smaller than the card base, so that I could stamp around it using the camo stamp again.

Happy Stamping!

USA Home of the Free

Background was done with the shaving cream/ink marbling technique.  It's been a long time since I've done that one so I'm not at all sure I did it right but I did get a few usable, good smelling backgrounds out of it!! LOL!

This one shows the shine from the glitter pens.

Red, White and Blue

>> Tuesday, June 13, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I have a couple od patriotic cards for today's share here on the blog.

This first one is mostly dies and embossing, and I tried to keep with a stars and stripes theme, using the Starry Background and the Thank You for Your Service stamps.  As I was completing it, I added a few punched stars foe embellishments.

I was trying to keep the red, white and blue theme going and remembered the phrase, "Red sky in morning, sailors take warning," so I sponged up some water and sky, adding the tree line from Mountain & Treeline 2 in 1 Scene at the shore.

I figured who would rescue someone from the waters but the Coast Guard, so I stamped and embossed the Coast Guard Proud Emblem and attached it to the card.

Fishing Birthday

>> Tuesday, May 9, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I love how happy this Proud Catch Fisherman looks when it comes to his big catch, so I thought he would be perfect for this new  O-Fishal Birthday Greeting!

The greeting and image do most of heavy lifting when it comes to making a cute card, so I simply made a background using Vicki's Versatile Background and Sand Snow Water Lines, using blue and green ink.

The black strip was embellished by me adding a few doodles and the Big Mouth Bass was fussy cut and added with pop dot.

Here hoping YOU have a REEL-Y great day too!

Mother’s Day

>> Tuesday, May 2, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Since the new You Were Right Mother's Day Greeting mentions forgoing flowers and teacups, I thought I would make the card using non floral stamps.

I used my favorite Splatter Background stamp and inked it up multiple times using yellow, pink, orange and green ink.  I then used those same colors to color up the stamped Small Stained-Glass image.

To finish it off, I added a couple of rows of matching gems.

Virtual stamping hugs to all the crafty moms out there!

A Birthday Toast

>> Tuesday, April 4, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I wish I could put into words how much I LOVE these new stamps! Super cute and punny are my absolute favorite and these are it in spades :)

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the Party Toast, and stamped and die cut the Birthday Toast Greeting before I created the background.  Wanting to make it match his polka dot hat, I inked up some bubble wrap and used that for my stamp. Green, yellow, orange and pink were the colors I chose to make that bubbly, confetti like look.

I added a die cut frame and attached it, along with the popped-up image and sentiment to an embossed dot panel.

Cheers all around!  Now go get yourself that adorable, buttery toast stamp!

Better in Cowboy Boots

>> Thursday, February 2, 2023

Good morning crafty friends!
Hope you like this fun card, it has some great "old" techniques used.
I stamped the Western Dancing Couple on white cardstock, colored then fussy cut.
They are popped up with some 3D foam that is about 3/8" tall (pretty thick stuff).
See below the other techniques used on this card.
I stamped Better In Cowboy Boots on a circle label cut from Texture Roll (Sizzix).  Before I cut it out I inked the die to create the walnut ink circles inside the die cut...These label dies are especially made to take ink before cutting for this cool letterpress look.

It is easy to see that I popped up the frame (cut from the same embossed (folder by Tim Holtz-Sizzix) piece of tan Texture Roll from Sizzix).  I had inked the embossing folder with Walnut Stain.

I stamped the Cowboy Garb on Shrink Plastic then colored with Copics, it did not color very smoothly but what did I expect on plastic right?  So anyway, when I cut it out and put it in my toaster oven (I keep just for crafts), it shrunk just like it should, so I got this cute little charm for the card front.

Get out your shrink plastic and make some charms then get your folders out and start making some fun letterpress backgrounds with your favorites.
It feels amazing to have backgrounds ready to go.

To the Moon

>> Tuesday, January 24, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I was inspired by Nancy's card from a couple of weeks ago and decided to use the same Love You to the Moon Greeting for my card today.

I went with a literal interpretation of the darling greeting and stamped, and heat embossed some stars, stamped and fussy cut the earth, and used a circle punch to make a moon.  I attached those using some dimensional foam tape and added some punched hearts between the earth and moon, finishing it up with some glittery glue.  The exact stamps for the sky and earth can be found here:

Love Bug Hug

>> Tuesday, January 17, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I had a bunch of red and pink papers floating around my crafting table after making this card here, so I thought I'd continue with the Valentine theme for today's card.

I started out by stamping the Silhouette Branch and then gluing a bunch of punched hearts to make a little valentine shrub.  I die cut and added a mat and attached it to a die cut banner.

Trying to decide on a sentiment, I really liked the little hearts that are part of the Love Bug Hug Greeting, but the words didn't match the shrub.  I fixed it by stamping and fussy cutting the Love Bug

After assembling the card, I added two pink gems to finish it off.

Stamping hugs from me to you!

Hogs and Kisses

>> Tuesday, January 10, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I'm on my way to celebrating the next big card making holiday with today's card.  I think we may be ready for it sooner rather than later, since my husband wanted to stop by the local chocolate shop this past weekend.  Not sure how I managed to resist the temptation, but I said after all the Christmas eating, we need to wait for Valentine's at least!

This "Cupig" is just a favorite stamp for making Valentines.  He's cute, easy to color and I love being able to add glitter to his little wings!  I attached him with some dimensional tape to some layered die cut circles and added the Hogs and Kisses Greeting to match.

The background was created using the Interlocking Hearts, and an embossing folder of lips to match the kisses portion of the sentiment.  A punched border and a row of gems finished it off.

If you need to get started on Valentine's cards, DRS Designs has all the stamps you need in the online store!

Happy Stamping!

Cheers!

>> Tuesday, January 3, 2023

Hi Everyone and Happy New Year!

I have a modest card-share to celebrate this brand-new shiny year.  It was a fast make since I kept it monochromatic, and swirling snowflakes, instead of confetti, ended up being the theme :-)

I stamped my background panel using the Interlocking Snow Background and punched out a bunch of snowflakes, so that the cream-colored paper would peek on through.  The Best Year Cheers Greeting was stamped on a panel and attached, leaving room for a couple of stamped and fussy cut wine glasses, which came from the Pour Me Bottle and Glass stamp.

For embellishment, I attached a few of the punched snowflakes and added gems to their centers.

Happy New Year to you and yours!

Hope, Love, Joy

>> Thursday, October 20, 2022

 Good morning crafty friends!

Today I've used DRS Designs: Gather Hope, Flower Wheelbarrow and 4 in one Harvest Design.
I also used some small word dies (Hope, Love, Joy) in the wheelbarrow.

The background was sprayed with Oxide Inks and the images were colored with Copic Markers.
I used an orange glitter pen to outline the words Hope, Love, and Joy in the sentiment.
The wheelbarrow and harvested vegetables are popped up.
