CAS Country Christmas Cards

>> Wednesday, November 24, 2021

Hello CraftyFriends.

I am still doing lots of CAS Christmas cards so I can get them in the mail next weekend.  The new DRS sentiments and images work perfect to get some quick cards done.  I have two to share and neither too much time.

This one was made with the new Jesus is the Reason Greeting and an Impression Obsession die. All I added was a bit of Stickles to the center of the star.

I used the Silient Night Sheet Music image for the background and fussy cut the new Plaid Fir Tree to add to it for depth and color.  I also cut a few words out of the new Ugly Sweater Christmas Greeting to add to as they were small and fit great (I added the hope and faith words inside).
Hope you have a great week!  Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow if you celebrate it.

Hugz,

Nancy

Band Birthday and Falling Leaves

>> Sunday, October 11, 2020

This is my son's senior year of high school and he plays trumpet in the marching band. Their last performance will be on his birthday and we are treating the entire band to cup cakes and drinks.

So I just had to make this card using the MARCHING BAND TRUMPET - 056G and BIRTHDAY MULTI GREETING - 219P in the school colors.

I heat embossed the birthday greeting in shimmer gold embossing powder and layered on gold paper on a black card base.

I colored the marching band trumpet image in black and gold with copics and die cut the image. The image is popped up on dimensionals.

I made a second card for this week.

I love this new AUTUMN HARVEST CHAIR - 042K image. It reminds me of Fall.

I stamped the Autumn Harvest Chair on acetate and colored it with copics. I cut the acetate to go behind a brown frame and popped it up on dimensionals and added some leaves behind it.

The yellow layer I used a fall leaves emboss folder.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my cards.

All Is Calm

>> Thursday, November 7, 2019

Good morning!
I have some more Christmas cards for you today!

This first one uses DRS stamps: Santa with Birds Chrristmas and 1 Line Merry Christmas
I also used a sketch from SCS, Liquid Applique for the fur and Liquid Pearls for the beard.

My next card features DRS stamps: Percy Penguin X 3.  I made a little plaid vest for middle Percy.
They are singing Silent Night to the neighbor penguins, can you tell by the musical notes???
The plaid vest was made with Large Original Plaid.  The sentiment, All Is Calm
the background trees, Triple Tree with Snow and the background snow is Splatter Background
The cute square die is from Penny Black.  I used Liquid Applique for the fur on their hats.
I used to have some music stuff (besides brads) but I have
no idea what happened to it.
I think it might be with some scrapbooking stuff because I bought most
of it for doing pages for my grandson who is so musical.
But everyone is grown up now and off living life.
I hope you like these little guys!!
Have a great crafty weekend!!

Silent Bells

>> Wednesday, December 21, 2016

Sadly, my New Year's resolutions all fell by the way side for the 50th year in a row.  The one about getting all my Christmas cards done early and mailed out BEFORE Christmas didn't work again - even sadder is that I KNEW it wouldn't work when I made the resolution.  I am going to make it again next year because I am an optimist when it comes to resolutions AND I have a really good plan this year - I am joining a monthly Christmas card group.

Since I am still making Christmas cards for this year, here is my latest:

For some reason, when I was making the card, I had in my head that the sheet music stamp was Jingle Bells and not Silent Night Sheet Music.  That is why there are some Holly Jingle Bells the middle of the main panel.  I tried to cover up some of the words with a sentiment panel using the Small Merry Christmas Greeting, snowtex, water distressing, stenciling and sponging.  I still like how it came out and it makes me laugh when I think about it.  Wonder if the recipient will notice?  LOL.

I stamped the Bells in Versamark and rubbed chalk over it to make the image softly appear.  I have learned to love my chalks again after learning this technique.

Hope your Christmas cards are all made and sent!

Christmas French Horn

>> Sunday, August 12, 2012

Happy Sunday to all, for my card I used the Christmas French Horn and the Small Merry Christmas Greeting. I used black ink and copic markers to color the image. A embossing folder was used for the border. The embossing folder is by Sizzix.

DRS designs is sponsor of the challenge a Stamping Sisters in Christ. And giving away a $10.00 store voucher.

The inspirational verse is.

John 14:1-6 "Do not let your heart be troubled;believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father'S house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am , there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going."

The challenge is to create a card that says home.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Musical Birthday

>> Monday, May 21, 2012

Happy Monday Everyone. Hope you had a good weekend!

Today I want to share a birthday card created with a couple of newly released stamps from DRS Designs - Marching Band Trumpet (056G) and Beat the Band Birthday (076E). These two stamps pair nicely with the Happy Birthday Music Background stamp (763P).

I started with a black card base and added a red panel that was embossed with the CB Happy Birthday folder. Before attaching the red panel I added the two pieces of red and black ribbon. The music background was stamped in black on white CS and cut out with a nestie. It's layered on a black scalloped circle and attached to the red panel. The Marching Band Trumpet was also stamped in black on white CS, colored with copics and then cut out. He's attached with pop dots for some dimension. The sentiment was stamped in the same black ink on white CS. I cut the sentiment into two pieces, sponged the edges with Real Red ink and then layered them on black CS. They are attached in the corners over the ribbon. To finish it off I added a music clip I found at Hobby Lobby on clearance. Gotta love those sale items!

Until next time,
shelia

Say it Loud!

>> Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Hi Everyone,

Have you been playing along in our weekly challenges here at DRS Designs?  If you are new to the blog, we host a challenge every Thursday, and this week the theme is "Music for the Soul."  So if you want a chance at some new "rubbah", (there are prizes after all!) join us by clicking here.  We'd love to visit and see what you made :)

So, sticking with the musical theme of the week, here is a sneak peek at some stamps that will soon be released at DRS Designs!

I used the Interlocking Stars Background stamped in white craft ink and some clear embossing powder for the background.  The Band Member was also embossed after stamping, and along with the sentiment, they both will be released this weekend.

I used an embossing folder for the base behind the stamped image and I punched out some stars for embellishments.  The five stars on the blue background were punched out of some paper that I first stamped using the Birthday Sheet Music stamp.  I was trying to tie the whole music and birthday theme together :)  And the red and white speckled strip is a piece of tissue tape.  This card makes me wish my birthday was on July 4th! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you can join us for our challenge!
