Happy Waves

>> Tuesday, March 19, 2024

 Hi Everyone,

I made another card using the fun new Happiness Comes in Waves Greeting, and the whole concept is making me wish I was at the ocean.

I began by making an underwater scene using some fish stamps and a die.  I colored it up using markers and some chalk shading.  I attached it to a background made using the Sand, Snow, Water Lines stamp and wrapped it in some netting.

I'm hosting Easter for a group for the first time since, what I call, the "Before Times" and I needed some invites.  Hence the simple design since I was making multiples.  Just a bunny die and some great sentiments were all I needed. Only 5 more to go!

Here are the stamps I used for both:

Happy Spring!

Howdy

>> Tuesday, February 13, 2024

Hi Everyone,

I made this valentine with my sweet 9-month-old great nephew in mind, because I'm in the baby-sitting rotation now that my niece has gone back to work.  I imagine he'll look like this cute fellow in a short couple of years.  Until then he's an adorable, chubby little cherub that refuses to nap unless I hold him the whole time.  While I'm enjoying the baby snuggles, my arm is usually asleep when he wakes up ;-)

Anyway, I colored up the cute Saddle Up Cowboy and made some valentine themed patterned paper, using the Silhouette Love Heart and Small Silhouette Heart stamps.

I attached those elements to an embossed heart background and added the Howdy Valentine sentiment, embellishing it with a fussy cut cowboy hat, from the 4 in 1 Cowboy Gear.

Here's hoping you're ready to celebrate tomorrow!

You Have a Special Place

>> Tuesday, January 23, 2024

Hi Everyone,

DRS Designs has released the Special Place in My Heart Greeting for this Valentine's Day, and I decided to let this sweet sentiment shine on my card today.  I simply embossed the background and added some punched heart embellishments along with a matching ribbon, and called it done.

This was going to be a happy new year card, but my sister-in-law has a January birthday, so I thought this would be fitting with a happy birthday stamped inside.  It's pretty self-explanatory, the only thing you can't see from the photo is the heat embossing I did on each stamped piece.

Here are the stamps I used:

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

January Cards

>> Tuesday, January 16, 2024

Hi Everyone,

My first card is a copy of last week's card.  My brother-in-law has a birthday this month, and he's a huge bird fan.  I figured a penguin is a cold weather bird and I'm loving the speech bubbles as of late, so a birthday card was born.

I used the inside of the Birthday Flower Circle for the greeting along with Percy Penguin again, and I hope he likes it even though he's a guy and the card has glitter and gems ;)

Some new stamps have been released at DRS Designs and I couldn't resist pairing up the new Howdy Valentine greeting with the adorable Cowboy Snowman.  Valentine's day may be all sunshine and flowers in some places, but in my part of the world it's definitely cold and snowy!

I added some wraphia, simply because it seemed rustic, and added some heart embellishments to keep with the valentine theme.

Thanks for stopping by the blog!

Thank You

>> Tuesday, January 2, 2024

Hi Everyone,

I'm still working on my holiday thank you notes, and since the Blizzard of Thanks Greeting was still on my worktable from this card, I used it for this one as well.

I used the Interlocking Snow Background stamp on my blue base and stamped, colored and fussy cut Stretch the Round Button Snowman

Instead of just a using a regular die to cut the sentiment, I chose a speech bubble for my snowman image because it seemed to make the card a bit more fun.  A few random snowflakes were added to play off the word blizzard, and then I called it done.

Hope your new year is off to a great start!

Snowflakes

>> Tuesday, December 19, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Here are my super quick projects that I've made this month.  I'm always running late or whipping something up last minute, so these are both crazy simple.

I needed a thank you card for my cousin who invited us over for dinner, and the Blizzard of Thanks is my go-to stamp this time of year.   I paired that up with the Snow Background, and added a punched snowflake and rounded corners and was able to write something personal inside in about 20 minutes...I think that included addressing the envelope too :)

My friend's son was performing in his 8th grade band concert, so I need a bag to hold his congratulatory gift card and sweets.  Now that my husband works from home and doesn't have to take a sack lunch, I have a bunch of brown bags in my pantry.  I used the same Snow Background stamp along with the Small Happy Holidays Greeting to transform the brown bag into something a bit more festive and I hope not too girly.  (Sorry for the ragged ribbon edges...I told you I was in a hurry!)

The countdown to the big day is definitely here and I'm feeling the squeeze...I hope you holiday prep is going smoothly!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Holidays

>> Tuesday, December 5, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I've used the new Leaping Reindeer stamp on my card share for today.  It's such a lovely image that evokes the traditional feelings of the Santa/Rudolph story of Christmas for me.  Of course, it just occurred to me now that I should have given him a red nose!  See?  Now I have an idea for the next card!

I ended up getting a smudge on my paper when coloring my deer, so I simply fussy cut him and attached him to a die cut and embossed square.  I also embossed the background with snowflakes and added a die cut tree, embellishing it with some gems.  Woo-boy do I have a lot of gems in my stash. I must have shopped a massive sale at some point in my life...lol.

After attaching the image panel, I added the Small Happy Holidays Greeting using my punches, along with a punched snowflake to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting today!

Plaid Background

>> Tuesday, November 7, 2023

Hi Everyone,

It's that time of year when I pull out the Woven Plaid background stamp, because it makes the best, fall and winter backgrounds.

I colored and fussy cut my Give Thanks Pumpkin Stack and layered them onto a die cut rectangle.  I took inspiration from it when it came to choosing the colors for the plaid background.

I also looked to my image for embellishment inspiration and added a ribbon, sunflower and matching fall leaves.

I'm getting excited for Thanksgiving.  Not so much the cooking part, but the eating part for sure!

Have a great day!

S’More Wishes

>> Tuesday, September 26, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I've been out of town, and I was overly ambitious in thinking I could make a fall card to show off here on the blog.  So, until I get back in stamping mode, here are a couple of cards I made for friends and family before I left.

This was a get-well card that I made using S'more Birthday Greeting and Smooshed S'more.  I separated the greeting and replaced it with the words get well from the Get Well Prayer stamp.  Otherwise, I copied myself from the card on this post.

This was a quick card that I made for my dog loving cousin. All I did was use an embossed dog themed background and made it a 4 1/4" square card, just to be a little different.

And here is the inside greeting...

Here are the stamps I used:
Doggie Dilemma Dog with Fence

I think the someone special greeting on the front may be retired, however, you can find that phrase as part of the Special Birthday Wishes Greeting.

Thanks for dropping in!

On my Mind

>> Tuesday, August 29, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I think my second favorite stamp after the Dogwood Branch is the Medium Daisy Bloom.  It's so versatile and just plain cheerful.  I use it all the time!

I made this card for a friend who's going through a hard time, and I took inspiration from this card here.

The background was heat embossed and I added some glitter glue to the flower centers.  I die cut the Mind and Prayers Greeting and added another fussy cut daisy as embellishment.

Happy Stamping!

Deep Sympathy

>> Tuesday, August 22, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Making a sympathy card when you need one most, is always difficult for me.  Lucky for me, I have this Calla Lily Sympathy Frame stamp from DRS Designs that does all the heavy lifting.

I stamped, colored and die cut it out, adding some sponging to the edges.  I attached it to an embossed background and added some flowers that were fussy cut from the Dogwood Branch.

After attaching everything with dimensional tape, I added a bit of glitter glue to the flower centers and called it done.

This stamp and many more sympathy stamps can be found right here!

Have a great week!

Army Proud

>> Tuesday, July 25, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick card share to celebrate our military today.  I had to color the Army Proud emblem a lighter green, so that it would show up against the dark Camouflage Background.

I also cut that green background about an inch smaller than the card base, so that I could stamp around it using the camo stamp again.

Happy Stamping!

Mr. & Mrs.

>> Tuesday, July 11, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I know it looks like I'm posting a black and white photo, but I promise that it's not one.  It's just a card that's made with gray, white and black cardstock.  For a modern wedding card, I thought I would make it to reflect the colors in a modern home, which always seems to be gray right now. What happened to the pink and peach colors in a bathroom...I know, I'm showing my age ;-)

Anyway, this is an idea from ages ago in my idea binder, only the towels had his and hers stamped on them.  I chose to add a tiny heart instead and use the new Mr. & Mrs. stamp to make the wedding card.

The card is pretty self-explanatory, but here are the measurements I used to make the towels and bar.

The bar: 1/4" X 3 1/2"

The towels: 1" X 3 1/2"

Red, White and Blue

>> Tuesday, June 13, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I have a couple od patriotic cards for today's share here on the blog.

This first one is mostly dies and embossing, and I tried to keep with a stars and stripes theme, using the Starry Background and the Thank You for Your Service stamps.  As I was completing it, I added a few punched stars foe embellishments.

I was trying to keep the red, white and blue theme going and remembered the phrase, "Red sky in morning, sailors take warning," so I sponged up some water and sky, adding the tree line from Mountain & Treeline 2 in 1 Scene at the shore.

I figured who would rescue someone from the waters but the Coast Guard, so I stamped and embossed the Coast Guard Proud Emblem and attached it to the card.

Army Proud

>> Tuesday, May 30, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I was in need of a couple of cards and had little time to make them, so I went with my favorite Dogwood Branch stamp that would work for both, and a couple of sentiments.

I simply stamped the With Sympathy Greeting and the flowers multiple times, adding color by stamping using a small square ink pad.

I did the same here, but added a die cut Brush Thank You.  Some glitter glue was added for some flair.

Finally, I made another star filled card to honor our military, using the following stamps:

Birthday Toast

>> Tuesday, May 16, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

One more cheerful birthday card coming your way, featuring this sweet little Party Toast and the matching Birthday Toast Greeting.

The background was made using an embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts) and I fussy cut the toast, attaching it to a die cut square.  Some of my most used sentiments are ones that fit inside of a punch, so don't be surprised if you see me using this again and again.

I attached the image and greeting with dimensional tape, along with some fussy cut candles from
Birthday Candle Burst for embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by!

Father’s Day

>> Tuesday, April 18, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I'm a little early with my Father's Day card share, but if you love the fun greeting, this gives you plenty of time to order it for your own stamping!

The Nailed It! Father's Day Greeting is perfect for those handy dads out there.  I really respect and appreciate the folks that have that specific know-how, because that isn't me at all!

I stamped and die cut the sentiment, adding some sponging to match the base and Ruler.  I decorated the embossed gear themed background with some metal brads and added some tools that were fussy cut from the Tool Christmas Stocking to finish it off.

Lots of fun new stamps were recently released and you can find them all right here!

Happy Stamping!

Daisy Birthday

>> Tuesday, March 28, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I'm healing from my hand surgery pretty well, but I have to type using odd fingers.  Forgive my short post today :)

I had leftovers on my desk from making this card, so I copied it using this new birthday sentiment.  I masked off the bottom part of the Special Birthday Greeting...

And stamped it inside with a few more Medium Daisy Blooms.

Check out all the new stamps at DRS Designs!

Have a great day!

We're All Irish

>> Tuesday, March 21, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I know St. Patrick's Day was last week, but I had to show one last card because the sentiment is too cute to save for next year!

I stamped the Wee Bit Irish Greeting (115D), die cut it and added a bit of green sponging.  I thought the Western Dancing Couple, who are more cowboy than Irish, would be perfect for the card especially if I colored up their clothing in green, instead of denim colors.  I fussy cut them and attached them to an embossed music background.

A shamrock embossing folder was used for the background panel and I added the Irish Good Luck Circle next to the sentiment to finish off the card.

Thanks for visiting and be sure to stop by the DRS Designs store to see all they have to offer!
