Howdy

>> Tuesday, February 13, 2024

Hi Everyone,

I made this valentine with my sweet 9-month-old great nephew in mind, because I'm in the baby-sitting rotation now that my niece has gone back to work.  I imagine he'll look like this cute fellow in a short couple of years.  Until then he's an adorable, chubby little cherub that refuses to nap unless I hold him the whole time.  While I'm enjoying the baby snuggles, my arm is usually asleep when he wakes up ;-)

Anyway, I colored up the cute Saddle Up Cowboy and made some valentine themed patterned paper, using the Silhouette Love Heart and Small Silhouette Heart stamps.

I attached those elements to an embossed heart background and added the Howdy Valentine sentiment, embellishing it with a fussy cut cowboy hat, from the 4 in 1 Cowboy Gear.

Here's hoping you're ready to celebrate tomorrow!

Halloween so Spooky....

>> Monday, September 18, 2023

I love, love, love how this came out. I just had to use this paper. It has been in my stash for a few years and when I for this new SO SPOOKY IT'S SCARY HALLOWEEN GREETING I just knew I was going to add this to a really fun card.

  • For my card I die cut this fun textured paper with a retired liquid drip die cut from Riley and Co.
  • Next, I added red ink to the top line and the SCARY word on the SO SPOOKY IT'S SCARY HALLOWEEN GREETING and stamped that part.
  • I then added black ink to the So Spooky it's in the greeting and stamped portion.
  • Once stamped I die cut the greeting and colored the skulls with copics.
  • I then popped the greeting up on dimensionals and used the cut outs from the drip die cut to finish the sentiment panel.
This really turned out so fun for a Halloween card. I am going to send this to my son as he loves skulls and I think he will get a kick out of this card.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

 Hello crafty friends!

Today I'm sharing another masculine birthday card, I hope you like this one!!

I stamped the fish then the mountains. Next, I stamped the treeline on each side of the trees that are part of the fish image.  I stamped everything on a sprayed blue and pink background with Versafine Claire Black then I colored the images with Zig Watercolor brushes.

Navy Proud

>> Tuesday, May 23, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

Since we're coming up on Memorial Day weekend, I thought I would share a military themed card.  DRS Designs has recently released a group of military emblems and my card today showcases Navy Proud.

I took inspiration from some of the emblems I saw online, which contained the colors of yellow and blue.  I heat embossed the emblem and also the background made using the Starry Background stamp.

To complete the card, I added a die cut banner along with a few die cut stars.

This card is one I made for a friend's birthday, and I took inspiration from this card:

Happy Father's Day

>> Monday, May 22, 2023

With Father's day quickly approaching I thought it was time for me to get in gear to get a few cards made for the dads in my family.

For my card today:

  • I used the TOOL BORDER - 379F on the tan card stock to create the circle behind the sentiment.
  • Next, I white heat embossed the RULER - 916H and just the Happy Father's Day from the NAILED IT! FATHER'S DAY GREETING - 114G on black card stock in white.
  • Once those were heat embossed, I die cut the sentiment and layered it over the circle layers.
  • The base is embossed with a wood emboss folder and the card was finished with a few black gems.

Are you ready for Father's Day? DRS Designs has some great images and sentiments to help you get ready.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Follow Your Dreams

>> Thursday, May 11, 2023

 Hello crafty friends!

Today I'm sharing a card that could be for birthday, Father's Day, even Graduation Day.  It simply says, "Follow Your Dreams". Besides the sign post image, I used Hiker Boot Print and Silhouette Hiker.

The cute frame is a die from I.O., the sign was fussy cut.

I  popped up the frame from the base and double popped the sign post.
The boot prints were stamped before popping up (of course).

The next card is a fun fairly masculine birthday card.

I added a small orange ribbon knot for embellishment.
I wanted to keep the billiard balls very light so that they would not interfere with the
sentiment so I stamped them with soft gray then lightly colored them with colored pencils.

Hope you like these 2 cards
now go get crafty!

Fishing Birthday

>> Tuesday, May 9, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I love how happy this Proud Catch Fisherman looks when it comes to his big catch, so I thought he would be perfect for this new  O-Fishal Birthday Greeting!

The greeting and image do most of heavy lifting when it comes to making a cute card, so I simply made a background using Vicki's Versatile Background and Sand Snow Water Lines, using blue and green ink.

The black strip was embellished by me adding a few doodles and the Big Mouth Bass was fussy cut and added with pop dot.

Here hoping YOU have a REEL-Y great day too!

Hello There

>> Thursday, May 4, 2023

Hello my crafty friends!
Today I've made a couple of fun cards, 1 birthday and 1 Father's Day.

This first card uses DRS stamps to create a fun Gnome scene.

Plan your scene then stamp the foreground first, mask.  You will need to pre-stamp everything on a plain piece of paper first to understand which images to stamp first then mask and keep stamping until you finish the scene then color.

Just add a few sparkles around the Happy Birthday.

My next  card is a Father's Day card with dad's favorite things!

I had these tool dies from ODBD so figured it was time to get the dust off of them!!
They work really well with my stamps.
I made this an easel card to give more room for the sentiment.

Thanks for visiting today!

>> Thursday, April 27, 2023

 Hello there crafty friends!

Today I'm sharing 2 birthday cards, 1 masculine and 1 feminine.  This first card uses a lot a pinky colors and a sport that both men and women like to participate in, bowling.

I used DRS: Ball On Your Birthday, Strike, 3 in 1 Design and Bowling Strike

Of course, all the coloring is done in the pinks. I used various dies I have from different companies, pop dots and ribbon to finish my card.

My next card features sports that a lot of boys like to play all through school (and beyond).
I used DRS: Four Corner Sports (which is a 4 in 1 design) and Ball On Your Birthday again.

I popped up the sentiment and single ball glove, I also used corrugated stock on this card.

My grandson played baseball and soccer through school, he loves both, so this card would be perfect for him.

Reel-y Good Day!

>> Thursday, April 20, 2023

 Hello there!

This is the time of year we start thinking about making Mother's Day and Father's Day cards, isn't it?,

I am sharing some Father's Day (or guy birthday cards) today, hope you like them!

I used DRS Designs: Fishing Birthday Greeting, Silhouette Fishermen, and Mountain and Treeline 2 in 1.

I used a previously made background piece then added some chalk pencils to the sky and lake for more scene creating.
The sentiment was cut up and I used a bit of dark twine to embellish.

My next card features DRS cute little Derby guy, Proud Catch Fisherman and O-Fish-Al Birthday Greeting

Even though both sentiments are actually birthday greetings, you could easily make either card a Father's Day as well.

Hope you like these and make some for yourself!!
Thanks for visiting!

Father’s Day

>> Tuesday, April 18, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I'm a little early with my Father's Day card share, but if you love the fun greeting, this gives you plenty of time to order it for your own stamping!

The Nailed It! Father's Day Greeting is perfect for those handy dads out there.  I really respect and appreciate the folks that have that specific know-how, because that isn't me at all!

I stamped and die cut the sentiment, adding some sponging to match the base and Ruler.  I decorated the embossed gear themed background with some metal brads and added some tools that were fussy cut from the Tool Christmas Stocking to finish it off.

Lots of fun new stamps were recently released and you can find them all right here!

Happy Stamping!

Handy Father's Day Card

>> Wednesday, March 22, 2023

Hello Crafty Friends,

DRS is adding new stamps to the shop very soon and this new Nailed It Father's Day Greeting is one of them.  It works perfectly with tool dies or stickers or the Tool Border. I used it with a set of tool dies I recently purchased on Amazon and one of my very first embossing folders.

I also used an embossing folder on the tool box so it would look a bit more like wood.  Of course, I went over everything with my trusty Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink.

This is a super fun Father's Day card for any handy (or handy wanna be) Dad.

Hope you are having a wonderful week.

Hugz,

Nancy

Happy Retirement

>> Monday, January 9, 2023

When I think of friends that are retiring, I think of them leaving the office for the last day and watching them walk out of the door. My card today is just that, seeing their footprints as they exit to go home. Their last steps are the darkest and as they are leaving those earlier footprints are fading away.

For my card:

  • I used the HIKER BOOT PRINTS - 946D and stamped on the right side of the card in black then stamped again using the stamp off and stamped a third time for an even lighter footprint.
  • I then used the HAPPY RETIREMENT - 700E sentiment above the fading footprints.
  • Finally, I die cut the panel and popped it up on dimensionals and added a few scattered sequins from my tote of items I am trying to use up.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week. I hope you have a wonderful 2023!

Get Well Soon

>> Tuesday, August 30, 2022

Hi Everyone,

Masculine cards are not my strong suit, but I have a friend recovering from back surgery, and he's a guy, so before I left for a visit, I whipped up this simple card.

I stamped the Sailboat in a navy blue to match the card base and distressed the edges before wrapping the panel with some twine. The Cheerful Smiles Get Well Greeting was die cut and sponged with some blue chalk before I attached it to the card.

The boat seemed too plain, so I added a bit of light sponging around it as well, and that seemed to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is smooth sailing!

Quick and Easy Paint Pour

>> Wednesday, August 3, 2022

Hello Crafty Friends!

At my house, we do paint pour the quick an easy way.  My Grandsons take a piece of paper and pour tons of paint out of the paint bottles.  They pour them right on top of each other and then look to see if Grandma is really paying attention - lol. Then Grandma takes a clean paper and slaps it on the original paper until enough of the paint is used up so the paper can dry in 48 hours - lol.  They love to do this and I love the backgrounds they leave me.

Todays card is made with one of the backgrounds from last week.

The background seemed perfect for the Let's Play Puppy image and the Hot Diggity Dog Birthday Greeting.   A super quick and easy card once the paint dried on the backgrounds (I ended up with 4 pages of backgrounds so you will probably be seeing them again).

Hope you are getting crafty and having a great week!

Hugz,

Nancy

Happy Father's Day

>> Sunday, June 19, 2022

I thought I would share this card for today to say Happy Father's Day. This SAILBOAT - 887F is perfect for any father in my family.

  • I stamped the SAILBOAT - 887F with memento black ink and colored with copics and added some light sponging for the clouds.
  • Next, the SMALL HAPPY FATHER'S DAY GREETING - 827B was stamped and I used some coordinating blue from the water to color the Father's word.
  • The black card base is embossed with an old Tim Holtz emboss folder on black card stock. I then used metallic rub on and my finger to add the copper to the raised portion of the compass.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my card.

Holiday Sweater

>> Tuesday, November 2, 2021

 Hi Everyone,

DRS Designs has released lots of great holiday stamps this past weekend.  If you are behind in your holiday stamping,  (Me, me! I'm raising my hand along with you...) the stamps on my first card are sure to jump start your mojo.

This one features Ugly Christmas Sweater Designer.  It's a group of stamps that includes a sweater, some stitching lines along with 3 tiny images for the sweater!  I mean, it was the first thing I wanted to ink up when I opened my new stamps, because it looked like so much fun.  I'm not sure what this says about me, but I would wear this blue and red candy cane sweater unironically.  It's sooo cute!  Anyway, you can make yours any color and set comes with a string of lights and a gingerbread man too.

Also available is a matching Ugly Christmas Sweater Greeting, which was a must have to go with all the sweaters I'll be making.

Everything was layered onto a background made by sponging over a die cut snowflake, along with a snowflake border made using Interlocking Snow Background stamp.

A couple of punched snowflakes embellished with gems finished it off.

This card was a quick masculine birthday card I made for a friend.  No frills,  just some good old stamping, some Stickles to enhance the beer foam, and a few metal brads :)

The stamps used here are as follows:

Don't move on until you've clicked on over to see all the new stamps at DRS Designs!

It's almost the holiday season, so don't be caught unprepared :)

Have a great day!

Billiards Birthday

>> Thursday, August 5, 2021

Good morning!
Lisa has inspired me to do another fun
guy birthday card.  The reason I say guy is only because orange is a favorite color for my son.  He is one of those extreme sport people you see doing crazy things but he also likes golf and pool, things where guys just hang out together.  So if your favorite girl loves yellow or orange hey, this could be for them.
I used DRS stamps: Pool Cue, Ball & Rack

The wonky stitch die square is by Cottage Cuts, the Wonky stitch rectangle is by MFT's and the square stitched frame die is by Lawn Fawn.
If you have a favorite guy or gal who loves pool this is a great fun card to make and display, go for it!
Thanks for visiting today and go be crafty.
