Merry Christmas

>> Monday, December 25, 2023

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week. I used the wonderful SMALL NATIVITY SCENE - 696D as it is perfect for today. I stamped it and colored it with copics. I then die cut a gold frame and heat embossed the CHRISTMAS STAR MERRY CHRISTMAS - 933F with gold emboss powder. The star was finished with a single gem.

From the entire DRS Designs team, we would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

Reason for the Season

>> Monday, December 3, 2018

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. DRS has some new images for you and they are just in time for Christmas. My card today features the new Way, Truth and Life greeting.

I started by stamping the snow globe onto white CS, colored the wooden base with Copics, masked it off and used Distress Oxide inks for the ground and sky. The nativity is an IO die set. I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to add some silver stars in the sky. The new greeting was stamped with Versafine Black ink onto the white panel. I then added some silver washi tape. I used the same tape for the ribbon, bow and star on the snow globe.

Inside I stamped the Blessed Christmas greeting as well as the small nativity image.

Be sure to check the on line store here to see all the new images. You'll see lots of fun ways to use the new images here on the blog too.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Merry Christmas!

>> Monday, December 25, 2017

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I love everything about Christmas - the decorations, the joy, the lights, the time spent with family and friends, the presents, the food, the baking, the snow, but most importantly I love taking the time to reflect on the birth of Jesus and what it means to me personally and to the world. I hope you are having a wonderful time celebrating Jesus' birth today too.

My card today is a simple one that I mass produced for volunteers at our church.

I started with the cream panel, stamped the Silent Night, Holy Night greeting with Archival Black ink and then embossed the panel with a Darice snowflake folder for some texture. The nativity was die cut from black CS and glued onto the panel. Everything is attached to a black layer before adhering it to the cream card base. I used an Echo Park Holy Family nativity die.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day.

Another version using Nativity Ornament 526K

Wisemen

>> Friday, December 18, 2015

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well & you're all ready for Christmas! Only 1 more week...YIKES! I think I'm almost ready...I just wish the weather was a little more Christmassy. With the temperatures in the 60's & 70's in the east, at least I think we'll be spared the wearing of the ugly sweaters. We haven't had this warm a December in all the years we've lived here.

My card today is all about Christmas. I used some non-traditional colors but it's growing on me. The strip in the middle is actually part of a large tag I made w/ Distress inks & a little platinum Brilliance for some sparkle. The aqua & lime sparkle layers were die cut w/ curved dies & the largest lime sparkle was embossed on both ends. Though the small manger image was meant to be a postage frame, I wanted to use it on my card so I added the large star from the wisemen image in the center of the postage frame. For the rest of the wisemen, I stamped them on the aqua layer & added some white Prismacolor pencil highlights.

Here's a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used on small nativity image.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
Supplies:
paper: X-Press It white, lime sparkle, aqua, manilla tag
ink: Memento tuxedo black, Versafine onyx, Distress inks in twisted citron, tumbled glass, peacock feathers, evergreen bough, Brilliance platinum planet
accessories: Copic markers, Spellbinders rectangles, curved borders dies, Sizzix embossing folder (Snowflakes & Flourish set), white Prismacolor pencil

Silent Night

>> Monday, August 3, 2015

Happy 1st Monday of August. I cannot believe how quickly the summer has flown by! Pretty soon school will start back up, fall will be here and then Christmas. Which means it's time to get started on those Christmas cards and avoid the rush and stress of last minute creating! With that in mind...

This was really a rather quick and simple card to create. I started by making a mask for the ground area and then sponged on three shades of blue ink to create the night sky. Once the inks dried, I stamped the Silent Night greeting in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with detailed white EP. The small Nativity Scene was stamped with Memento Black ink on white CS, colored with Copics and die cut with nesties. I layered it and the main panel on green CS, added the sheer navy ribbon and attached everything to the white card base. I hope this and the other Christmas cards you've seen here on the blog is inspiring you to start creating those Christmas cards!

Be sure to check out this week's challenge to "Cause a Scene." We'd love to have you play along.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Nativity Easel Card

>> Monday, November 17, 2014

Trust you all had a great weekend and were able to find some time to get creative. It's time to get serious about getting those Christmas cards made!! I hope you have enjoyed seeing all the recent cards created with DRS Designs newest Christmas Village stamps and that they have inspired you to get into your stamping space and play some! Along with the new village stamps we have a new sentiment stamp that I really like. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to pair it with a nativity stamp.

The nativity was stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, and fussy cut. The background was created with the CB swirls folder, it kind of makes me think of dirt and sand swirling around the manger. The top half was sponged with Barely Banana ink using a TH stencil. Oh come let us adore Him was stamped in black ink. I added a yellow star and rhinestone to the top of the stable. The new sentiment was stamped on So Saffron CS and layered on brown CS that was punched with a star border. Some sheer yellow ribbon completes the look. Hope you like it.

Be sure to check out this week's challenge "Hang it Up!" You could be the winner of some fabulous new DRS stamps. We'd love to see you join in the fun.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Merry Christmas!

I couldn't think of any better stamp to use for my card today than our Holy Family Manger Scene.  I stamped it on white card stock using black ink and colored it with pencils.  My next step was to stamp  our Joy to the World stamp on white and after die cutting it I sponged the edges with blue ink.  After die cutting the manger oval, I die cut a scalloped circle and then a slightly larger oval in blue to go in back of it.  For my background I simply ran a piece of acetate through my cuttlebug using an embossing folder and layered everything on a folded blue card and added some bling.

Thanks so much for spending part of your Christmas with us!.

Merry Christmas Eve

>> Monday, December 24, 2012

Merry Christmas Everyone! I trust today finds you able to rest, relax and enjoy family and friends as you celebrate Christmas. For today I thought it appropriate to share a card that features the true reason for the season.

I used green, red and cream shimmery card stock to create this Christmas card. The cream is embossed with the CB snowflake folder. The ornaments were die cut with the Spellbinders ornament dies. The two larger ones were stamped in gold ink and embossed with gold embossing powder using the new small nativity stamp and the Silent Night greeting. The smaller ornaments were embossed with the CB swiss dots folder. Some gold cord was added to make them look like they were really hanging. Hope you like it. Thank you for stopping by today.

Have a blessed Christmas!!

Until next time,

Happy Cyber Monday!

>> Monday, November 26, 2012

Hope everyone had a marvelous Thanksgiving! Are you still eating turkey and stuffing?  We are! I don't usually like leftovers, but there's something about the Thanksgiving leftovers - they're just as good the second and third time around!

Today my card features the just released Silent Night greeting and the small nativity scene as well as the Silent Night sheet music. Everything is stamped in silver on blue card stock and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. Heat embossed Christmas cards are so pretty to me and fairly easy to create!! I made a card very similar to this last week for the Merry Monday Challenge. I really like this layout!

After stamping the sheet music image I cut the image into 3 banners and layered them on a white panel that was embossed with the CB snowflake folder. The sentiment and small nativity image were cut with nesties and layered on white. Some silver half pearls and silver ric rac were added to complete the look. Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by. And if you haven't up loaded your "turkey" card, you still have time to play in the latest DRS Designs' challenge. We'd love to have you join us!

Until next time,

Simplify Christmas

>> Thursday, December 9, 2010

Today I have a card for you using the newly released Simplify Christmas (553D) and Holy Family Manger Scene (513M) from DRS Designs. I tried to keep my card simple to emphasize the meaning of the greeting. I stamped the image with brown Memento ink on kraft cs. I cut out the focal image with a Spellbinders label nestie. A touch a glitter and brown ribbon adds a bit of sparkle. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Thursday. How is your Christmas shopping coming along? I think I need to get started on that! Yikes...

Noel Card

>> Tuesday, September 7, 2010

by Alicia Ekermans - Call Me {Crafty} Al

I am having so much fun creating with and sharing the cards I have made using all of the new Christmas releases from DRS Designs!

For today's card I stamped the Luke Holiday Verse (L972) repeatedly on the kraft cardstock in watermark ink to create the background. Then I stamped the NEW Nativity Noel (L337) n this piece, as well as an off-white cardstock. I cut the manger scene out of the kraft piece, matted it on a red cardstock, then adhered it to the card front. Next I cut the off-white copy, keeping only the manger scene, and placed it in the open area of the kraft copy. To add some sparkle I used glitter on the manger and star.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to keep coming back for more inspirational projects from the design team members.
