A Fond Farewell...

>> Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Posted by: Heather

As some of you may know, I am stepping down from the DRS Designs design team at the end of the month. So...this is my last post on the DRS Designs blog. I've already told them multiple times, but I want to thank everyone at DRS Designs as well as all of the wonderful members of the design team for all of the friendship and support they have shown me. This past year has been absolutely wonderful. I have grown so much as a stamper and I have definitely been inspired by all of the gorgeous creations made by the entire team. Having AWESOME stamps to work with was also an added bonus. I cannot say enough good things about the stamps from DRS Designs. I thought as a farewell post I would share some of my favorite cards that I've made over the past year...

Here is the very first card I made with stamps from DRS Designs. The second I saw this butterfly stamp in the catalog I knew I had to have it. It is one of the most beautiful butterfly stamps I have ever seen.

I don't typically make many Halloween cards but I loved playing around with these fun images!
I'm a sucker for butterfly stamps! DRS has such an awesome variety, you just can't go wrong!
This was another image that I fell in love with the second I saw it.
I'm sure this is no shock to any of you since I gush about these all the time, but the Cutie Pie release was the honestly the highlight of my stamping year! I LOVE these adorable kids! I really loved this card even though it took me 3 hours to make because of the complicated background.
The sentiment stamp selection at DRS is absolutely awesome. The BEST around! This is one of my favorite sentiments...I think I've probably made 20 cards with this sentiment.
The Dustin Pike animal images from DRS are some of my favorites too.
Another Cutie Pie card...I just can't resist these guys!

Here is another one of my favorites...I absolutely love this Leonard image and the coordinating sentiment.
I had to end my year in review with another Cutie Pie...these newest additions to the Cutie Pie family just put a smile on my face every time I see them!

I know my post got a little long, but honestly when I started going back through all of my cards I had so many favorites. I have loved every minute I've been on this team. Thank you to all of you for making this such a wonderful year for me!

Golfing on Father's Day

It's me again! Hope you enjoyed my non-traditional backgrounds yesterday. Today I just have a couple Father's Day cards to share. My husband always complains that I make my cards too complicated. According to him, guys like simple not frilly. So in honor of him, here is my simple Father's Day card:

This next one is a bit more complicated (it definitely won't be going to my husband) but still manly enough for a golf loving dad :
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop back tomorrow for our Friday Featured stamper!

Non-traditional backgrounds

>> Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Hello all! Hope you are all having a wonderful week. Today I wanted to share some cards that use non-traditional background stamps. By non-traditional, I mean stamps that weren't necessarily designed to be a background. DRS Designs has an awesome selection of background stamps, but they also have an awesome selection of other stamps that can be used to create backgrounds!

For my first card I used the golf bag stamp to create the background.

This next card uses the worm can stamp as the background. This stamp is fairly large but still works well as a background!

For my third card I used a simple "Happy Birthday" sentiment to create the background paper.
I'm pretty sure I've shared this card here before, but I thought I would share it again. Here I used the small frog stamp to create the background. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Graduation Time!

>> Wednesday, June 3, 2009

Posted by: Heather Lee-Reppen

Today I thought I would share a few graduation cards that I made recently. DRS Designs has a ton of really great graduation images and sentiments!

All three of my cards use the same 2 graduation stamps from DRS. I wanted to show you that even with limited supplies you can still create a multitude of unique cards. I also purposely didn't use any designer paper. DRS has a ton of fabulous background stamps (including this graduation background) that make creating your own designer paper a breeze!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Today I wanted to share a couple simple birthday cards. I wanted to share these to show that not all cards have to be complicated and time consuming. Sometimes we just need a quick and simple card. Both of these cards that I am showing today are simple layouts that could be made in less than 30 minutes (that is amazingly quick in my opinion - I'm usually a 1-2 hour per card maker).

Simply layouts that still give an elegant look:
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Monochromatic

>> Wednesday, May 6, 2009

posted by: Heather

Happy Wednesday! Today I wanted to share a simple monochromatic card. I don't typically do monochromatic but I thought that this sentiment worked perfect for this kind of card...whenever I think about baby girls, pink automatically comes to my mind. I really liked how this card came together. It is simple but still has a nice, elegant look to it. The background was made using the baby pin stamp from DRS Designs. I added glitter to the heads of the baby pins to give the card that little extra sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fabulous day!

Spring Flowers

>> Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Posted by: Heather

We are having a heat wave in Wisconsin this week. 55 degrees in February...unheard of... I didn't even wear a coat to work yesterday. With this patch of warm weather, my mind is on spring and even more specifically...spring flowers. I love when it gets warm enough for flowers to start blooming. I know it won't be warm enough for that for several months (at least in Wisconsin), but a girl can dream can't she! Sad thing is, by next week it will be long underwear weather again.
Since I'm in a flower mode this week I thought I would share some cards made with a few of the awesome flower stamps from DRS Designs:

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!
