Happy Halloween!

Well, there isn't much time until the big day - Halloween! My kids love this holiday so much. I never really made many cards or projects with a Halloween theme until I was introduced to DRS Designs stamps. There are so many wonderful stamps to choose from - every style you can imagine! Here are a few cards I made using some new release Halloween images from DRS Designs.



For this card, I used the Eeeek Background on the olive cardstock. I stamped the image using the same color ink as the cardstock. This background is so fun and easy to use! I added a small scrap of patterned paper and tied a bit of ribbon around the middle of the olive layer. Then onto some white cardstock I stamped the Witchy Fog Brew image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I colored in the image using Copic Markers. I cut/embossed the image using Labels Eight Nestabilities and layer it onto the card using some Pop Up Glue dots. I stamped the Small Halloween greeting onto a Rectangle Nestabilities and popped that up, too. I added some gold brads in the corners to complete the card.

My second card is more spooky!


First I stamped Broomstick Stella Witch and colored her in using Copic Markers. I cut out Stella carefully! Next I stamped the Spooky Bat Tree image onto some white cardstock, colored it in using Copic Markers and cut/embossed it using Labels Eight Nestabilities. I layered that onto a piece of orange cardstock and attached it to my card. I added some cute ribbon, too! I stamped the Wicked Halloween sentiment onto white cardstock and cut/embossed using the Labels Eight Nestabilities again.

These are some fun cards to make for those Halloween lovers in your life! It's not too late to purchase your Halloween image from DRS Designs.

Invited to a Spooky Party!

It has become a tradition at our house every year to have a Halloween Bonfire/party. Some years the weather is nice and the Bonfire/Hayride is possible. Other years the weather just doesn't cooperate. I have learned to go with the flow! So for this year, I am getting my invites ready and the table favors designed so I don't have to rush when the time comes! Here are my projects!

I made a tag invitation using various Nestabilities for the shape. I stamped the Halloween Party Invite onto my white die cut. I colored in the cauldron using Copic Markers. I stamped portions of the Double Deal Bats & Stars stamp along the top and added some Crystal Stickles to give it that extra something. I completed my tag by adding a large eyelet with twine and a bow. For this little party favor, I used a digital template to create my box. I stamped the bottom portion of the Halloween Party Invite stamp and colored it in to match my tag and stamped the cute Small Happy Halloween sentiment, then cut/embossed using the Classic Ovals Petite Nestabilities. Using some Mini Glue Dots, I attached this little oval to my box.

I think this a great ensemble for the Annual Halloween Bonfire/Party. Don't you? Check out all the great DRS Designs Halloween images. You will be so glad you did!

Are You Ready for Fall?

So I am sure you know, but the first day of fall was last Wednesday. Can you believe how fast summer went by? I certainly can't! One thing I love about fall is the leaves turning into beautiful, vibrant colors. One of our favorite things to do as a family is to go for a drive just to look at the leaves and stop somewhere pretty to enjoy a picnic lunch. Well, the leaves haven't started changing here in Missouri but I am patiently waiting for it to happen.

Here is my card that is all about leaves!

I used the Candy Corn and Leaf Card Edger for the border of this card. I stamped the leaf edger portion on the top and bottom of a piece of vanilla cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink. I colored the leaves in using Copic Markers and cut along the stamped border to create the scalloped look. I stamped the Changing Leaves Thanksgiving Greeting onto some vanilla cardstock using the brown ink and cut/embossed using Labels Seventeen Nestabilities. I layered this onto a bigger Labels Seventeen Nestabilities and popped it up onto the card using some Pop Up Glue Dots. I finished everything by tying some brown gingham ribbon into a bow onto the card.

Here is another card using the Candy Corn and Leaf Card Edger.

For this card I used the new release, Candy Corn Buzz Bee stamp and one of my favorite sentiments from DRS Designs called Favorite Veggie Candy Corn Greeting. I used the Candy Corn portion of the edger stamp along the bottom of the card and cut along the scallops. I colored everything in with Copic Markers and used the Labels Sixteen Nestabilities™ to layer my sentiment on.

Precious Pumpkins!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend! I know I did! The reason why I had such a great weekend is because I received the nicest package in the mail. This package was full of goodies from DRS Designs. The new releases that will be available starting September 22. I got busy mounting my stamps onto EZ Mount and inking them up. Here is a card I made using the super cute Precious Pumpkin (F380).

I stamped the image onto white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Using my Copic Markers, I colored the image and cut/embossed using the Classic Square Nestabilities Lg. I stamped the base of my card using New Sprout Memento ink and stamped using the plaid background. I mounted the pumpkins onto a olive green scalloped squares cut from Nestabilities. The Small Halloween Greeting (042A) was stamped and cut to fit into the hardware and attached to the base of the card.

A Sketch Challenge for You!

I made two cards using this sketch:


For this card, I used the Candy Apple stamp. I just love this stamp! Candy Apples are one of my favorite fall treats so this card was super fun to make!!

For this second card, I used the Candy Corn stamp. Do you notice a theme? Maybe I am hungry? LOL I stamped the Candy Corn image all over the white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it in using Copic Markers. I stamped the Favorite Veggie sentiment onto white cardstock and cut/embossed using Classic Circles Lg Nestabilities. I layered the sentiment circle onto a Jumbo Scalloped Nestabilities and tied some black twill around the card to complete my interpretation of the sketch.

To make this tag, I wanted to use some Iridescent Ice embossing powder except that I didn't have any. So what I ended up doing is mixing together some clear embossing powder and glitter. Works just as well for me! I wonder what it looks like if you use colored glitter? I will have to give that a try! Using Versamark ink pad, I stamped the Large Filigree Snowflake and Medium Filigree Snowflake onto some Baja Breeze cardstock and embossed using my homemade glittery embossing powder. After heat setting, I layered this onto a tag. I stamped the Christmas Music Background onto some ivory cardstock using Baja Breeze ink. I fitted the ivory piece where I wanted it and then tore it. I used a sponge and added some Baja Breeze ink on all edges Then I cut out the other snowflakes I embossed and layered them together. I stamped the Silent Night, Holy Night sentiment twice using Crumb Cake ink and punched it out using a EK Success punch. I added some lace and ribbon at the top and my tag is finished!

Christmas in August?

Yes, Christmas in August is going on in my stamp room this week! Its kinda fun actually. My family looked at me kinda strange because I was playing some Christmas music. But when they saw my cute DRS Designs new releases, they understood! DRS Designs is getting ready to release some new stamps on August 21st and I have a sneek peak for you today!




I made this cute little box with my Scor-pal but before putting it all together, I embossed using the Interlocking Snow Background and white detail embossing powder. The big bow is one of the new releases called Bells and Bows. I stamped it using black ink and colored it using Copic Markers. I cut out just the bow portion of the image and punched a hole for the tag. The tag was made using the A Gift for You image stamped in red and layered onto a scalloped oval die cut. This was a fun and quick little box to make. Plus the new release image just added that extra special something!

Fun In The Sun!

Hello and Happy Monday! Can you believe it's August already? Time really flies when you are having fun! Here is a card I made using a new release from DRS Designs. Don't you just love those otters? They really look like they are having so much fun.

To make this card, I stamped the Otters (G255) using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto some white cardstock and colored them using Copic Markers. To make the "sun", I simply die cut a Inverted Circle Nestabilities out of yellow cardstock and placed that behind my image. For the background, I stamped Vicki's Versatile Background using Versamark ink onto the cardstock. I added the Fun In The Sun Greeting and some ribbon and this card was finished! Fast, easy and cute! Just my kind of card! Hope you have a great week!

Happy Monday!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! It's pretty hot here where I live so I spent some much needed time in my crafting area working on some cards using DRS Designs new releases!

I stamped the new release Lily Sympathy Cross using Versamark ink onto some teal cardstock. Then I added the silver embossing powder and heat set. The image is so detailed and beautiful, isn't it? I cut/embossed the image using a Labels 8 Nestabilities. I added a strip of silver cardstock cut/embossed using the Fair Isle Borderabilities and some ribbon to complete the sketch. The along the bottom I stamped the Heartfelt Condolences sentiment using teal ink. I added some brads to complete the card.

Britghten My Day!

A couple of weeks ago, I was talking to a friend and she told me about this cool technique she did using Acetate, Copic Markers and glitter. So I found some free time and got busy!

First I took a piece of acetate and stamped Small Fun Flowers all over using Jet Black Staz-on ink. After that dried, I die cut some scalloped circles using Jumbo Scalloped Circle Nestabilities. Then I turned the acetate over and colored in the flower using Copic Markers.

Then comes the messy part! Coat the side you colored with Aleene's Tacky Glue and sprinkle with Silver Glitter. This will take some time to dry. This is my card!


For the background of my card, I used the Silhouette Flowers Impressabilities to get that dry embossed look. Then I stamped the You Brighten My Day Greeting onto white cardstock and cut/embossed using a ribbon tag. I popped up my glitter circles using 3d foam squares and added the sentiment with some ribbon and its all done. The longest part was waiting for the glue/glitter to dry.

This is such a fun technique and there are tons of DRS Designs images that would be perfect to use! Give it a try!

Yesterday's prize is this great stamp called Gold Icon (H973). I have paired this wonderful image with the Above Par Birthday greeting.



To make this card, I stamped the Golf Icon image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto white card stock and colored it using Copic Markers. I cut out the image and layered it onto a Labels 12 Nestabilities. The Above Par greeting was stamped using black in onto the white background. I added a couple of brads in the corner just to add that extra something. This is another quick and easy card that will really impress that golfing enthusiast in your life!

My card is a quick and easy card that I think looks elegant and classy. I started my card using some blue cardstock for the base. The white background layer was stamped using blue Ink and the Easy Dot Background (H628). The Happy Moments Happy Days greeting was stamped using blue ink onto some white cardstock and cut/embossed using a Classic Circle Nestabilities. I matted the sentiment onto a Scalloped Circle Nestabilities and added the rhinestone stickers to give some added bling! With the addition of the ribbon and some more rhinestones in the corner, this quick card was finished. I love when cards come together so quick and easily.

Yesterday's prize was The Ultimate Remote (K292), which is the super-duper image featured on the card I am sharing with you today. Since yesterday was Father's Day, I thought this image would be perfect for a card for my Father-In-Law. Especially since we got him a new Blu-ray player for his special day!! LOL!

For this card, I used The Ultimate Remote (K292), King of The Remote (C290) and Remote Control Greeting (K288). The background was stamped using the Lines O'Plenty Background (H366). This was such a fun card to make. I love to give cards that make people laugh! Just so much fun!

This is a fun card, isn't it? I made a Tent Topper Card. You can find the tutorial for making this card on Splitcoaststampers HERE.

I stamped Jungle Jim the Elephant using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad onto white cardstock. I then colored him using my copic markers. I layered the image onto some pink and dark grey cardstock. For the bottom of the card, I stamped the pink cardstock layer using the Interlocking Circle Background in Pink Pirouette ink. The scalloped bottom is from the Jumbo Scallop Borderabilities® from Spellbinders. I stamped the Walk on the Wild Side Birthday Greeting onto white cardstock and cut/embossed using Petite Ovals Lg Nestabilities™ and then tied a bow in the pink gingham ribbon. I added the silver brads for a final touch! I just love cutesy birthday cards like this! I know that our winner will love this image just as much as I do!

Out of This World!

I make alot of birthday cards but since I have 3 girls, I don't make many boy cards. I don't even have alot of images that would be good for a boy birthday. I was so excited to see the newest releases from DRS Designs. These images I used for today's cards are perfect for that special young man in your life!



For this card, I used the new release image called Spaceboy Skip and a cute new sentiment called Out of this World Birthday. I colored the image using my copic markers and then went over that with a Sakura glitter pen. It gives a bit of glitter without being girly!! The background was created using the Starry Background.


This second card has a different image but the same Out of This World sentiment. The image is called To The Moon. Two different cards using the same sentiment? It's a good thing, right? I sure think so! Hope these cards give you an idea for the next manly birthday card you need to make! Have a great day!

Cute & Girly DRS Style!

Starting today, DRS Designs will be sponsoring the A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge blog. This week's challenge is to make a cute & girlie project! Here are my cards for this challenge.


Now my cards aren't really "cute" but they are definitely girlie! The first card is a graduation card for my cousin's daughter. I used the Go Confidently Graduation Greeting for the focal point of my card. The flowers are from the Three Flowers with Butterfly stamp. I colored in the flowers using Copic markers and cut them out. I mounted them onto the card using some 3d foam squares and put a pearl in the centers. I die cut a heart out of cardstock and lace, layered the two together and added a pearl doo dad to complete this card. Quite girlie, don't you think?

My second card using a new release sentiment and one of my favorite butterflies!


The You Brighten My Day sentiment was stamped first and then die cut using the double-ended tag die template from Spellbinders. I stamped the Flower Butterfly on the background cardstock and onto white cardstock. After cutting out the butterfly, I applied Crystal Stickles for that all important shimmery goodness!

Because I Said So!

Here is a card I made using a new release from DRS called I Said So Mother's Day Greeting. It made me laugh out loud when I first saw it. I used another DRS stamp for this card. On the background paper, I stamped the Love Is Patient text background using Antique Linen Distress ink. It's hard to see in this picture but it really adds that extra "something" to this damask patterned paper.

For the flowers, I used a technique shown to me by my friend, Heidi. This flower was made from dried baby wipes - yes, you read that right, BABY WIPES! First, I took some baby wipes out of the container and let them dry completely. Then I die cut them using a set of scalloped circle die templates. After that, I stamped the circles using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and the Love Is Patient greeting. I then swiped my Aqua Mist stamp pad over the flowers to add some color. Here is a picture of what they looked like at this point.

After getting the scalloped circles to the color I wanted, I put them together using a brad. I spritzed them with some Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist to give them that extra something!


I think it turned out great! I love this technique because its inexpensive and fun to make these flowers! You should give it a try.

Show Your Appreciation!

Did you know that this week is Teacher Appreciation Week? Well, I found out about it and got busy. I wanted to give my daughter's teacher something I know she will love!



This box is made from a template I downloaded. After cutting and scoring, I stamped the Chocolate Chip Background using Rich Cocoa Memento ink. I stamped the All That Box of Chocolates greeting onto white cardstock using the Rich Cocoa ink and cut/embossed using the Mega Curved Rectangles Nestabilities. The sentiment actually has Thank You underneath but I did some selective inking and didn't use the thank you portion. Since I know this teacher loves chocolate, I think she will get the idea, don't you? This is the last of my Teacher Appreciation gifts that I will be giving. I sure hope my kid's teachers enjoy them! Tell a teacher you appreciate them this week!

Happy Birthday!

I have been making birthday cards alot recently and wanted to share a couple that I made using new releases from DRS Designs.




For this first card, I stamped the Happy Birthday Arc onto white cardstock and then positioned my Classic Oval Nestabilities where I thought it looked best and layered it onto a Scalloped Oval Nestabilities. This was attached to the card using 3d foam squares. Then I stamped the Slice of Cake image using black ink and colored it using Copic Markers. I cut this image out and layered it into place using more 3d foam squares. After putting the rest of my card together and putting the image panel into place, I applied some Crystal Stickles onto my cake image. I find that putting the stickles on last works the best for me because I am not a patient person!


Don't you love this? I think its funny. This card is for a friend of mine and I know she will laugh! I stamped the Birthday Test image using brown ink onto white cardstock and cut that out. I layered it onto some olive green cardstock and attached some brads in the corners. I stamped the Slice of Cake image onto the brown cardstock using Versamark. The patterned paper strip was found in my scrap pile!

Inspirational Card

Sometimes life takes a turn for those we love and you need a certain kind of card. Well, that is what happened to a friend of mine from church. Last week, she fell down and broke her hip. I had created this card using the new release image, Silhouette Wheelchair and sent it to the DRS Designs store. But this is an easy card to recreate and it didn't take alot of time to make it again.


The sentiment, One Day At A Time, and the silhouette image just go perfect for this situation. My friend needed surgery and will be wheelchair bound for a while but doesn't know how long. Sometimes its best to just enjoy today and not worry about the future, isn't it? I also used the Knot 2.5" Mega Circle in brown ink and then cut it out.
