Spring Flowers

Are you ready for Easter??? I still have a few things left to do, but I'm sure it will all come together in the end! I probably shouldn't have spent the evening working on this card, but I was having fun and it was so quiet and peaceful.....

These are the stamps I used for my card. ( Note: stamp M385 - I only used the tiniest of the butterfly's)

and here's my card - (This card has been on my mind since I first thought of doing a silhouette fence. There were several things I had to fine tune, but I'm happy with how it turned out)

The fence was stamped on my card using vivid cornflower blue ink (stamped off on scrap paper once). The flowers were stamped using black pigment ink on a separate piece of cardstock, masked and stamped again to make a longer line of flowers, then embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored my flowers using Bic markers and attached them on the lower portion of my fence. After stamping the greeting with cornflower blue ink, I stamped the smallest of butterfly's using Vivid violet ink. I dry rubbed turquoise blue ink above the fence and spring green ink below and attached it to a smoky blue cardstock. I dry rubbed another slightly larger white card with the turquoise and green (top & bottom) and then layered it all on a folded sage card.

After applying jewels to either side of my greeting I also adhered one to the center of each flower.

My Tip: When cutting out a shape like my flowers above, I can hide any imperfect cutting by going around the outside edge with a gray marker.

Your Trick: by Stef H. - Do you know.... if you have any adhesive sticking out of your work (some of us get a little sloppy here) just dab some baby powder on it and the sticky is gone!
