Bunny in the Tulips

>> Friday, March 26, 2021

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! We're having another wild weather week here. Thunderstorms, heavy rain & lots of wind. The weather alerts keep going off & the power keeps blinking on & off. Fun times!

I have an Easter card today, using the cutest little bunny behind image. I stamped & colored him then used my out of the box to die cut him in an oval shape & added a dk green oval frame around him. I wanted just a bit more color, so I stamped the tulips on a scrap, colored & fussy cut them. Then I cut slits in the grass to insert the tulips. Since all of this is on the oval, it's a no layer card w/ the greeting stamped directly on the card front. I had a lattice I die cut out of some mint green that was spritzed w/ bleach & thought it added a nice element to this CAS card.

Here's the inside & below it are the Copics I used. No oranges..I just blended the reds & yellows to get that color on a few of the tulips.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Autumn Chair

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! We've actually had a couple of mostly sunny days in a row. That would be a nice change from the daily thunderstorms..if it weren't for the oppressive humidity. I really wish fall would hurry up.

Doesn't this new image make a lovely autumn display? I thought I would make it the star of the card & treat everything else around it in a neutral, simple manner. This is all on one layer, but I used a little into the window (like out of the box, but the other direction) for the top right of the chair & inserted a kraft colored circle around the greeting. I masked the chair & stamped the floor in lt gray then added some shading to it.
Here's the inside & below it are the Copics I used.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Ghoul Times Family Portrait

>> Friday, September 2, 2016

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! So yesterday's DRS Challenge is all about stamp selfies...& I really love doing those! This card, while not strictly a selfie, is close..it's more a ghoul family portrait...with all the Zombies coming out of the window. I stamped all the zombies, colored them, then fussy cut them. I had this little white window type frame left over from something & liked how they fit in it, so I stamped the greeting, added a sage green layer (it kind of matches their skin, don't you think?) & a larger black layer. The black layer has a barbed wire fence embossed across it & the bottom edge was punched w/ a drippy goo punch.  I think this family was probably a lot more attractive before the "ghoul times", lol.

Here's a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.
