A Fun Scarecrow to Celebrate Fall!

>> Friday, November 19, 2010

I made this card using the DRS Designs new stamps! I colored this scarecrow image with copic markers and gel pens. For the background, I embossed white paisleys using an easy background stamp. These stamps are so easy to use and you can make your own patterned paper with time! How awesome is that!I stamped this sentiment on white paper then sponged the edges to make it look distressed. Thanks for popping in and I hope you will stop by DRS Designs and check out all of the new images for fall!

A Quick and Fun Christmas Ornament...WITH STAMPS!!!

>> Saturday, October 2, 2010

By: Dawn Knight
Halloween is coming and DRS has just released a TON of really awesome stamps... but guess what else is coming too? Christmas... and it is NOT that far away. Today, I am gonna show you this really simple ornament that i made using STAMPS, RIBBON and a STYRAFOAM ball...(and of course, Stickles!)

I stamped and embossed the snowflake stamp three times and then i cut it out... i made some deeper cuts as you can see here to make the flakes stand out

Then, i glued them to the ball and added some pins to make sure they would adhere.I glued 2 snowflakes together for the top and adhered them the same way. next I stamped and embossed this snowflake and cut it out and glued and pinned it and added it where the ribbon crossed.

I got out the box of stickles and added them where my pins were and that hid the holes. I added a loop of the same ribbon and pinned it to the top and here is my ornament... EASY!!!
Stamps... they are not just for cards!Tthanks for popping in!!!

HALLOWEEN PARTY INVITE...DRS STYLE!!!

>> Thursday, September 23, 2010

I love love love this stamp. What a super fun Halloween party invite! I brayered the background on NON glossy card stock and this is what I got...so I KNEW this stamp would be perfect on this background! I stamped the image and then I colored the cauldron in with a glossy black embossing pen. For the moon, i punched a circle on scrap card stock and sponged gold ink and then removed the mask. I decided that the sky was a little bit empty... so I knew that bats were in order... and here is my card! quick enough to make alot of them for a huge Halloween party... but a great looking invite just the same... and that is what it is all about... right! Thanks for popping in!

>> Friday, September 10, 2010

By: Dawn Knight

One day at a time indeed... but lately, several have been piling up on me all at the same time! Thank goodness for my escape... STAMPING! I learned this double embossing technique and I knew that I could not wait to showcase one of DRS Designs wonderful sentiment stamps in the frame that it made. I chose One Day at a Time to remind me of... well... just that. I stamped the leaves around the outside edges to incorporate the black into my color combo and add some texture. Then, ribbon, bling and flowers to complete the look. thanks for popping in and I hope everyone has a cheerful weekend!

A Snowman With the Ho Ho Man

>> Saturday, September 4, 2010

By: Dawn Knight
Love this Image! I adore Snowmen and I wanted to use another color besides green and red and Santa is sporting enough of those colors, So I went with the blue to show off Snowy a little bit too! I wanted to decorate the inside of the card as well, so I used some die cut snowflakes and stars in the corner for a little bit of interest also!
For Santa's beard, only liquid applique would do. In the past, I always heated it wet,but someone told me to wait and heat it up when it is dry. I got a flatter and more even result... Pretty neat!
I used an embossing folder for the snowflakes and sponged this gorgeous blue over it to make the snowflakes show up a little bit more. Then some macthing ribbon and a fun snowflake... and here is my creation! Thanks for stopping by!

And Yet, ANOTHER Take on This Super Fun Stamp!

>> Friday, August 27, 2010

This stamp cracked me up when I saw it! I think I was the only kid that was TERRIFIED of the Jolly Fat Man... and would NOT go near him at all!!! Forget bribing me with presents, candy or any of that. I still get a little freaked at the mall...so, I can totally relate to this stamp! I stamped the Santa hat in the background and colored the top of it in with a red copic marker. Then I stamped the saying and mounted it on green... and added the poinsettias. Quick, simple and FLAT to mail! Check out the NEW RELEASE of DRS Stamps here and thanks for popping in!!!

In The Heat of The Noon Day Sun!!!!

>> Friday, August 13, 2010

August in the South is  HOT!!! Just HOT!!! So instead of complaining, I thought...why not make the best of it!!! I took the AUGUST stamp and colored it 2 times. then I cut it out and stuck it together to make the sun. Next, I used a die cut and popped it up for the center of the sun. I found some flowers that looked tropical and matched my sun and added them to the bottom. I arranged all of this on a blue background that reminds me of the beautiful Carolina sky and here is my card with of course the PERFECT SENTIMENT!Thank so much for stopping in and keep COOL, Y'all!

By: Dawn Knight

I am never happy with the weather. I live in the south... and for the last 847 days in a row.... it was over 90. With like 1000% humidity. Well, then it cooled off to like the 80's... and yeah... I am really in the mood for a latte... a HOT one. I keep my home COLD... and when it is hot outside... no problem. Well, when is cools off... I freeze! But don't tell my family that because they will probably turn the air off! I came across this card that is made with all DRS Designs stamps! It really put me in the mood for one of these delicious HOT latte's now... and to share it with a friend WOULD be espresso-ly wonderful! I colored this image with copic markers and used a glitter pen in the steam. I made the card a fun shape... but it will still fit an A2 envie! Thanks for stopping in...and don't complain about the weather like I do sometimes... just adjust your Latte... they are yummy iced too!

Mad... ABOUT PLAID, Baby!!!

>> Sunday, June 13, 2010

Congratulations Jane P.

You are the winner of today's Stamp of the Day! Yippee!
Be sure to contact DRS Designs (info@drsdesigns.com) within 7 days with your name and mailing info to claim your prize.

The stamp that Jane P. won is the large original plaid background stamp. That's right... all that gorgeous plaid in the background is done with a stamp... it is not designer paper. That means that you will NEVER have to go to the store to get the paper that matches just right... you can make it!!! What I did was stamp the blue vertically and the green horizontally and This is the look that I got! How totally awesome is that?AND it is so simple to do... I love that I can make my own paper to match! I also used the Girly Swirly Birthday Cake stamp... it is one of my FAVES!

Would you like a chance to win a fabulous DRS Designs stamp too?All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, then check back tomorrow to see if you won! Even if you don't win today, you can comment the rest of the month for even more chances!

I love these new Graduation Images from DRS Designs. It is graduation time and these stamps from DRS DESIGNS are just perfect. Thanks for stopping in!
