Stained Glass Butterflies

Welcome!!

Is it just me feeling like summer is over?  Here it is August 3rd and I'm already thinking fall and back to school, so I decided to do one more summer card before I fully immerse myself into leaves and pumpkins :)

To start my card I sponged on pink, purple, turquoise and lime green inks onto a 3" x 4" piece of white card stock.  After making sure it was dry I stamped our Small Stained Glass stamp using black pigment ink and immediately stamped our Large Open Silhouette Butterfly right on top (at a rakish angle of course) using the same black pigment ink and heat embossed with clear powder.  I die cut around the image - making sure not to cut off the butterfly's wings, and layered it on a dull silver card stock.

For my black folded card I used our Simple Berry Branch and Vertical Thinking of You images using white pigment ink.  Once that ink was dry I colored the berries with blue and purple metallic markers and attached my butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by!
Sue

Gorgeous, Sue! Love the stained glass behind your bold butterfly. The berry branch on black looks wonderful. Back to school...hmmm..school started here on Aug 1. Sheesh..I remember when it used to start after Labor Day. Since we've lived here, school start day has moved backwards about 3 weeks.
