>> Thursday, February 21, 2019

Good morning!

St. Patrick's and Easter are coming up so I've got a couple of cards here
that will fill the bill!
My Easter card uses the new Easter Ears Leonard Pig, Favorite Easter Peep
The background was done with the marbling technique using Alcohol inks in water.

The stitched frame is a die from MFT's The egg die is from ODBD
and the grass border punch is Martha Stewart.

The banner dies are from ODBD, the sentiment die is Sizzix and the frame from MFT's
The background is Dylusions on glossy and banners are done with Dylusions ink
on glossy and on mat then cut out.

We are still having crazy weather here, it is snowing in 2" flakes at the moment...
no kidding huge flakes coming down!
It has been raining or snowing almost every day for the past 2 weeks or so.
We need it so there is no complaint here!!

Sleep Tight

>> Thursday, February 14, 2019

Good morning!
Oh yes, we have been having snow/hail and rain for about a week and
expect more for the next week but I am happy as a clam!
Yes, we ALWAYS need as much water as possible in any form
for our poor forest, lakes and reservoirs. So I say bring it on!!
I have to admit though, our lowest temps have only been in the
teens not sub 0 degrees like some places!
We have a nice cuddly woodstove that keeps us warm too!

I have a couple of Gnome cards for you today!  These guys are so cute!
This Gnome is sleeping under a starry starry night!  The background under the stars is done with Color Burst (Ken Oliver). I used DRS stamps: Tree Slice Woodgrain , Ladybug Toadstool and Sleeping Gnome .

The stars and plants- Sizzix dies, tree background- Karen Burniston die.

My other card Uses DRS stamps: Tree Home Gnome Snail Toadstool ,
Wonderful Day Gnome and Toadstools

Dies by Spellbinder (upper part of tree trunk), MFTs (sun) and Memory Box (greenery).
All these toadstools, Gnomes and bitty bugs are so darling, they remind me of a fairy garden which I just love!
I wonder what scene you might make up with some of these guys.  Hope to see some on Facebook soon!

Sending You Love

>> Thursday, February 7, 2019

Good morning!
Today my first card could be considered a Valentine or maybe just a card to a loved one.
My grandson would probably like this for any occasion!

I used a heart embossing folder for the background panel.

My second card is based on a sketch from SCS and I've used the new cute Sleeping Gnome
a wood grain embossing folder and One-Line Happy Thoughts.
The arrow die I used the top part of is from HC.

I love the new gnome stamps, don't you?  They are so cute!!

Thanks for visiting today!

Gnome Matter What

>> Thursday, January 31, 2019

Good morning friends!

Today I have 2 cards using the new gnome stamps.
These are so adorable, I just love them.
I also used Toadstools, You Brighten My Day and The new Sleeping Gnome and Gnome Matter What Sentiment soon to be released.

I used a sketch for this card and some fun colors.  Only part of the Gnome Matter What stamp was used so that it would go with the rest of my sentiment of You Brighten My Day.
I masked off my main gnome image and added the other toadstools.

My next card Uses the entire Gnome Matter What sentiment, the open door gnome

I also used a wood grain embossing folder with this one and sponged it with some
Tea Dye Distress Ink.  The sky is softly sponged with Blue Sky Brilliance and a torn paper
towel to make the clouds (I like the soft and un-unified look it gives).

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you enjoy these new fun stamps!

You are The Sparkle In My Eyes!

>> Thursday, January 24, 2019

 Good Morning!
Whoa, it is so cold this morning!!!!  My car doors were frozen shut
and I could barely open my door to get it warmed up!
This Valentine might be a cold one so, what's the best way
to get your body going?...why, get out there and dance of course!
This couple is at the town Valentine's Day dance and
they don't feel cold at all!
Look how much fun they're having!
Well, having a heart full of love helps too!

This is an easel card I made so that I could have the "rest of the story" inside the card.  I love what this says, it makes the perfect Valentine's card for my honey.  I used DRS stamps: Western Dancing Couple, The floor, One Line Valentine, You are The Sparkle In My Eyes!, and Heart Drops.  Coloring done with Copic Markers, jeans-B91, B93, B95, shirts-R21, R24, R29, hat and boots-C1,C3,C5,C7 and the floor-E53,E33, E35, E39

My next card has a western theme as well.  I don't know if you said things like this in grade school/junior high but we did, "I'm stuck on you" was a common fun Valentine phrase.
So I changed DRS stamp: Hooked On You to read "Stuck" On You to go with the pokey cactus.
I made the stuck red and popped it up so it really stands out.
The othe DRS stamps used for this Valentine: Cowboy Cactus and One Line Valentine
I happened to have some red heart shaped pearls as well and they make this card complete (well, any red embellishment would).  I followed a sketch from SCS for this card.

So, this is just another way to use your western themed stamps, fun eh?
I know I had a load of fun doing these cards!!

Amazing Love

>> Thursday, January 17, 2019

Good morning!
Time for some Valentine's Day cards.
Up first is "Amazing Love" this maze stamp is so cute!

The bottom border is a die from HFC and I used a square die from Memory Box to make my corners, cutting each square in half.  I colored the Amazing with the fine tip of a Tombow pen then outlined it with a black felt tip.

This next card has a background of softly sponged stenciled hearts. I used some MFTs oval dies and stamped DRS stamps Scattered Hearts and I Love You
I used a sketch from SCS  and added sequins of silver, red and pink.
The shine lines are a white gel pen.

>> Thursday, January 10, 2019

Good morning!
I've got some more cold cards for you today.
I also used Octagon dies from Spellbinders and an embossing folder from Darice.

I used an older sketch from SCS for my layout.

the next card is done in the same color scheme of blue and kraft.
I used DRS stamps: Paper Coffee Cup, Coffee & Friends and

I used my Misti for stamping the hearts.  In the Misti I used the special corner and just turned my card each time to get the same placement for each corner.
I sponged Walnut on the edges and corners.  The sentiment die is from Stampendous.

Snowy Days

>> Thursday, January 3, 2019

Good morning!
Happy New Year!
Now starts the really cold weather right?  Time to get the hot chocolate out and the coffee, hot tea and anything else hot!
This fun card uses DRS stamps: Paper Coffee Cup, Snowy Days Frosty Nights,
I stamped the background with the large and medium snowflake using Sky Blue Brilliance Ink.  The cup and sentiment is stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento.  I fussy cut the cup and die cut the sentiment using a die from MFT.
The little snowflakes were punched.

My second card uses DRS stamps: Snowy Birdhouse, Blizzard of Thanks
The background is stamped with the Snowflake background white and white embossed.  The snowflakes in the square were punched.
I used some crystal Nuvo on the roof of the birdhouse to make it
sparkling with snow.

The rectangle dies on both cards are from Memory Box.

I hope you had a great holiday and got to spend
time in your crafty space.
Have a wonderful 2019!!

Winter Village

>> Thursday, December 27, 2018

Good morning!

A frosty morning here at the village!
It's been snowing and the whole village is sparkling!!

This is a gatefold with a Z closure so when it is open you see the outside as well as the inside.  I used the new All in 1 Village. The holly die cut frame is Memory Box the outside decorative dies are from HFC.  the inside/side panels snowflakes are Memory Box.  The snowy pine trees are from Sue Wilson and the deer are Cottage Cutz.
I actually did this card for Christmas but since I did not include a sentiment it could easily be a wonderful thank you instead.
I used a piece of cardstock 12 X 5 1/2" then scored it at 4" and 8" to create 3 parts.  The outside 2 panels were then scored in half to create the Z (scoring would be 2", 4", 8" and 10").

Seas and Greetings!

>> Sunday, December 23, 2018

Welcome Sunday!
I know we don't usually have a post on Sunday but I have made too many
Christmas cards!!  Haha, what a great problem to have right?
This first card was a sketch for SCS, I made it a shaker card with
lots of goodies in there with the sand Christmas tree.  If those shells were
3D it would be like a Pin-Ball machine, LOL!

This next card is like Sue's using Wisemen and the DRS stamp:
I embossed it with silver on a royal blue mirror paper.
I splattered the stars using white acrylic paint watered down a bit.
The STAR is gold mirror paper and the Wisemen are made with
silver mirror paper (hard to photograph!)

Merry Christmas to you all!

Merry Christmas!

>> Thursday, December 20, 2018

Good morning!
I love this gorgeous door knocker, don't you?
Today I've done it is gold and red, lots of layers on
this card.  The top layer is popped up with a foam sheet.
The oval dies are from Spellbinders and the gold corner flourishes
are from Memory Box (older).
DRS stamp is Christmas Door Knocker
The poinsettias are from Heartfelt Creations.  I used an embossing
folder from Cuttlebug and white Nuvo drops for each intersection in
the background embossing.  The gold stamen are also from HC.

This next card is a swing card made with a (grand) size Spellbinder, it still fits in the regular Big Shot.  Oval dies, birds and chair are from Memory Box, the Pelican is
from Cottage Cuts.
DRS stamps: New-Seashell Christmas Tree (I made it a sandcastle) I added several colors of micro beads to it for texture. New- Seas and Greetings and older stamps: 4 in 1 Seashells, Sailboat, Lighthouse and Sea Grass.  The clouds are courtesy of a torn paper towel.

The sea and shore are a bit straighter when the card is flat! LOL! I never thought
about it being  Z shape when displayed!!

Thanks for Visiting today!

HO HO HO!

>> Thursday, December 13, 2018

Good morning!

This is the perfect guy Christmas card (for that perfect guy in your life!)
the background is an embossing folder from Sizzix
and dies from LifeStyle.
The HoHoHo is tape so I'm kinda thinkin' it might be duct tape right,
(Knowing men, although it could also be electrical tape, my hubby has lots of that in several colors being an electrician!)
The red strips are actually pieces of ribbon.

This next card is looking through the window out at the town square, don't you just love this new village stamp?  DRS All in 1 Christmas Village.
The frame is a Spellbinder die modified and then run through a wood grain embossing folder.  The flowers and holly leaves are dies by HFC,
 filled with gold Prills.
I did the actual wood paper with the DRS Wood Grain stamp.

I finished it off with red and with green ribbons tied together in a bow.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Peace and Joy

>> Thursday, December 6, 2018

Good morning!

I am a day behind...for some reason I thought today was Wednesday!
Anyway, The stamps I used here were: Santa with Birds Christmas and Deco Peace and Joy
I was using a SCS sketch for this card as well.  The cross stitch circle die is from Rubber Necker. Santa's Fur is white Fun Flock.
I used an embossing folder from Darice for the background.

This next card  is a combo of stamps for the resist background using:
These little kids were a gift to me last year but a bit too late for a Christmas post so I've used them now in this all white (except a bit of color in the sky) card.  I used glossy and regular white cardstock which have a different white color to them, that works great for contrast.  The falling snow and trees are embossed with white. The sentiment is Christmas Especially To You.

Falling Leaves!

>> Thursday, November 29, 2018

Good morning!
today I've used real leaves to stamp my images and used DRS stamps for the sentiments.
This first card is using Japanese Maple leaves and the
Psalm 100  stamp from DRS.
my background is a wash of watercolor.

My next card uses the Purple Robe Lotus leaves and the
Goodbye Summer Hello Fall stamp from DRS.

I did a watercolor wash on this background as well.

I just put pigment ink on the leaves then ran them through my die cutting machine with the watercolor paper to make the image.

Hope this gives you more ideas for making your own cards!

Happy Thanksgiving!

>> Thursday, November 22, 2018

Good morning Happy Thanksgiving!!
For everyone sneaking a peek instead of cooking!

I used Core'dinations paper and sanded to make this truck look old,
old, old!  I lost the tires part of the die set so I had to make them up with my smallest circle dies.  The window has Copic tinted acetate so that it is see through. The dies are from Impression Obsession.

This next card is meant to be a one layer card and it is except
for the easel part, lol!
I embossed the panels with a frame embossing folder and then
took another piece of card stock, cut an oval out and used
the cut out as a reverse mask, stamped the image,
masked it then sponged color.  The images are colored with Copics.

Super simple easel card!

Ummmm Chocolate!

>> Thursday, November 15, 2018

Good morning!!

What is better than Chocolate Cream pie?  Ok, well I like all pies!!
Coconut Cream, Chocolate Cream, Lemon Meringue, etc, etc...
A person could make this pie any number of custard or
cream pies....think of your favorite!
DRS stamps:  Pie and Coffee and Deco Happy Thanksgiving To You

I used a brown color ink to stamp the image giving this a "no line"
Look to it. The whipped cream is Liquid Applique heated
to puff out.

I used the new Hanging Signpost and Pumpkin Pile for this next card,
along with the Long Tall Wheat Stocks that go so well.

I did a bit of "out of the box" die cutting for this scene.  I stamped the
image with black Memento and colored with Copics and masked the sign and pumpkins to stamp the wheat stocks with Distress: Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Fossilized Amber.  I sponged the ground area with Mustard seed
and sponged the sky with Brilliance Sky Blue.
The white background was embossed with a Crafter's Companion
embossing folder and then sponged (the corners) with Tea Dye Distress.

It is finally feeling like fall around here and I am so glad!
Of course the cooler weather hasn't stopped the wild fires, we need rain desperately! It is so dry here that when a fire starts it is like burning a box of matches...truly.  All these dead trees are like Roman candles when
on fire, they explode!
Please pray for the fire fighters and for people who have or are losing all.
Thanks crafting friends!

Good morning!
I made the plaid with our Open Plaid stamp and 2 colors of Oxide Ink.  I then used a brown glitter pen to make stitch lines.
I cut the semi circle from a white panel and then cut a frame for it.
I popped the layer up over the orange and then plaid panel.
On a separate piece of card stock I stamped the new Pumpkin Pile,
colored it then fussy cut it and glued it to the card on the left side.
I stamped the sentiment, cut it out, sponged the edges and drew stitch lines.

This next card is a telescoping card with 3 moving parts that
stack together.
Take a look below...

I used DRS stamps: Simply Pumpkin, Pumpkin Patch,
I cut 3 circles each a little larger than the next.  Stamp images on each
of the circles, mat each with a darker color.  The last, largest images is matted with the scalloped eyelet which shows when the stack is closed.

It is starting to look like fall out there even though the weather
is still warm...yes warm in NOVEMBER!! OMGosh!
Well most of my trees have lost their leaves except for the evergreen
of course and we have a lot of those!
Well, thanks for visiting today, hope to see you back soon!

 Good Morning!

Today I'm using the new Hanging SignPost stamp and new sentiment,
The die cut shape is from Spellbinders.

I found some acrylic leaves that I added some color to with Alcohol inks.
The fiber is some I had from long ago (I love finding treasures in my craft
 room, don't you?)

My next card is using some of our new stamps as well.  Pumpkin Thanksgiving

I used an embossing folder for my background, stitched dies
and Liquid Applique for whipped cream (the liquid Applique
was heated with a heat embossing tool to make it puffy).
The sketch was borrowed from SplitCoastStampers.

Good morning!
Time for some fall and Thanksgiving cards!  It will be here before
we know it!

This first card features some cute new fall stamps.

I started with the sponged sky and then stamped the wheat stalks.  I stamped the
right side of the Pumpkin Pile on the left bottom part of card and the left side on the right bottom.  I stamped the full pumpkin pile on a separate piece, colored and fussy cut.  I cut this wagon (Older HFC die) and inserted the pumpkins into it.  I stamped the sunflowers and leaves part of the 4 in 1 Harvest stamps 2 and 3 times, colored and fussy cut then glued them into my scene. I then glued the wagon and harvest onto my card.

This card uses new stamps as well...Hanging Sign Post, Give Thanks Pumpkin Stack, and Happy Fall Y'All.  I stamped the sign and sentiment on the card panel, colored then sponged background.  I stamped the pumpkins on another piece, colored and fussy cut then glued to the card.

The background orange panel was run through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
My layout was a sketch challenge at SplitCoastStampers.

Thanks for visiting today! Now go get crafty!!

BOO!

>> Thursday, October 18, 2018

Good Morning!
My first card is a side step card.
My background is done with Oxide Distress inks from Ranger.
I made a separate tag for the back panel and stamped the
Silhouette Haunted House on it then did the background
like the rest of the card, masking the moon first.
I then colored the moon and windows.
I die cut a few trees from a Penny Black die set, place one
on each side of the house and one on the middle step.

and It's A Scream Halloween on a separate piece of white
card stock, colored and fussy cut (the sentiment is die cut
with an oval die.  The Iron fence & Gate is stamped on another
background I colored and glued and is to the front.

Here is a side view.

My next card is using the Zombie Gal and Zombie Guy on another
background made with the Oxide Inks.  I used a moon/sun die from Hero Arts
and a tree frame die from Memory Box in the background.  The moon is stamped the Accent Bats and I dded a bat die cut from Spellbinders.
I made a frame of back card stock and stamped it with Spooky Eyes Background and embossed with white powder.
The background between trees is stamped with Silhouette Grave Yard with the Iron Fence stamped over it.  The Beware of Zombies Sign was stamped on another piece of card stock, colored and fussy cut.

Inside I used the tree frame die again and stamped

That's it folks!
Isn't it nice that it's starting to feel like fall...Yes, the weather
has cooled down finally!!  Yippee!
