A Golden Welcome

>> Monday, April 2, 2018

Hi Everyone. Hope you had a wonderful Easter. I was thrilled to be able to spend Easter with my kids and family in Virginia. I had a marvelous time with them and today, I'm back on the road headed home to OH.

My card today features the new Welcome oval. If you follow DRS Designs' blog, then I'm sure you will recognize this image, though you may not have seen the word welcome on it. Most of us have covered it up and used the beautiful image on Easter cards. But today I thought I'd share it as it is.

To begin I used water color paper and sponged on some TH Distress Oxide inks and then flicked on some metallic gold water color paint. While that dried I stamped the beautiful welcome oval with Gold ink and heat embossed it with Gold EP. It was die cut and layered onto a scalloped oval die cut from metallic gold CS. Everything is layered onto the same metallic gold CS and then onto the white card base. I really like the way this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by today.

blessings,
shelia

How pretty, Shelia! Love the gold embossing & gold mirror layering. the gold splatter on the bright blue really ties it all together.
