Odie's Perfect Picture

>> Friday, August 4, 2017

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! Sigh..I'd love to be staring out a window at this scene. All the tropical flowers, palm trees & water....Odie definitely has the right idea. Did I ever tell y'all how he got his name? When we first adopted him, we had a cocker spaniel. While we were at work, Odie would be in his cage facing the back yard & the dog would bark at whatever dogs bark at. About 2 or 3 days of this & we came home & Odie was barking at the dog. Except his bark was soft & sounded faraway. I'm guessing because that's the way Odie heard it coming from the back yard. He was a character! When he would bark, we'd say "are you a puppy dog?" He'd immediately correct us by saying "Pretty Bird". About 10 years later, we adopted another parrot, Linus, & he learned to bark from Odie.

Anyway, after stamping & coloring Pretty Bird Odie  & the Palm Tree & flowers, I fussy cut them all.  On the square inside the popped up frame, I stamped a portion of the Flamingo scene & colored it. Then everything was arranged on top w/ just enough room for the greeting.
Here's a look at the inside & below it are the Copic I used.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Beautiful card Julie! Love the bright colors and how you had just the right space for the greeting. I love that your dogs knew how to bark - it's like 2 pets for the price of one!!

Totally gorgeous Julie!! Love the coloring on the bird (probably like your sweet bird, Odie I'm guessing) Love the little window on paradise that he is sitting on!! Beautiful!!
Great story about Odie as well! I just can't imagine having a bird talk to me through the day...He would most likely take up talking to himself the way I do, LOL!!
