As the Years Fly By

>> Wednesday, July 12, 2017

When I was a small child, my Father discovered a parrot in a tree in our backyard.  He tried for weeks to get that bird to come to him.  Finally, he rigged up the perfect trap and caught him.  We had that bird for years and he was sooo fun.  He looked just like the new Pretty Bird Odie Parrot image that I used on my card this week.  We lived in Florida at the time, and we were only a block away from the beach which looked very similar to this fun new Silhouette Palm Tree Line image.

I sponged Distress Ink on my card to create the sky, sun, and water.  I drew in the tree reflections with a Micron Pen, and used a white Gel Pen to make some little ripples.  The sentiment is also from DRS Designs and is called Another Year Flies By.  This card fits that SCS Sketch challenge for this week if you want to check that out.

Nancy

Gorgeous, Nancy! Your water looks amazing! Odie never looked so happy. A long time ago, we went to Hawaii & we saw a bunch of little Odies in a bird habitat. Looked a lot like this beautiful scene.
