My Paper Green Thumb

>> Wednesday, April 19, 2017

I do not have a green thumb in real life.  That is why I love paper foliage - no watering or maintenance required!  For today's projects, I am really showing off how versatile DRS Design images can be.

For my first card, I did some surgery on two images to make this potted succulent.  I took the Sneaky Bunny Flower Pot and cut out the pot to act as a base for my plant.  Then I took the Medium Daisy Bloom, sponged on some green, and then cut it up to make the succulent.

I used the new Blessings sentiment underneath.  Super fun!  Speaking of the Medium Daisy image, I also used it this weekend as a backing to an Easter Cross.  This image can be used so many ways.

On my second card, I tried a new technique to me and made a Mother's Day card.  I sponged my base with the CTMH Willow green ink that I used to color my succulent (I also sponged a bit on my diamond base for the flower as well.  Then I ran my base through an embossing folder and rubbed Versamark ink on it.  I sprinkled on some white embossing powder and heated it up.  Came out really different, and I like it.

For my flowers, I stamped Snapdragon Diamond three times and fussy cut them out.  Colored them with water color pencils and covered them up with Stickles.  Lastly, I added the new Happy Mother's Day sentiment and a few gems.  I think these snapdragons could be used to make all kinds of fun arrangements and would be pretty layered in different colors as well.

Hope your week is going well!

Hugz,

Nancy
