Saddle Up!

>> Saturday, October 8, 2016

Good morning!

Here is another stamp your own background to go with Thursday's challenge HERE.

I started with kraft card stock and stamped my 626P Wood Grain Background using a stamp aligner to get the boards straight and spaced evenly.  I then stamped my sentiment, 877F Saddle Up Birthday with VersaMark and Black embossing powder.
I die cut my horse (Memory Box), Barbed wire fences (My Favorite Things), grass and Frame (ODBD) then gave the horse some dimension by coloring shadows, stamped, colored and cut out my cowboy hat 1121K Cowboy Garb and started piecing things together.
My fence and frame are popped up over my horse and background and the hat is glued to the frame.
I wound some twine around my fingers and made a knot at the top then decided to add a decorative brad (I clipped off the prongs and glued it to the knot).
I think this makes a cute little boys birthday card don't you?  You could also do shades of pink and make it a little cowgirl card.  When I was growing up, horses were all I could think of!

Heehee!

Thanks for visiting today! Have a great weekend!

Love your cowboy bday card, Robin! I've always been partial to cowboy/southwest images. The woodgrain bg looks fabulous. Love the pic of you, too. Don't we all have a similar pic? I even found one of my dad & had it copied for when we celebrated his bday last month.
