Mama

Good morning!
I decided to do another distress card, this time feminine.
I tore the edges of each layer on this one except the embossed layer which is distressed with a tool.  they are all sponged with Antique Linen and/or Vintage photo.
I stamped the rose on the pink layer with a darker pink ink all over for a background, you can't see it very well :(
To add more of a feminine touch (besides the pink and white) I added lace and sheer pink ribbon.
My mama died a long time ago which actually makes this sentiment even more special to me.  I miss my mom everyday but I am so happy for her as she is in heaven with Jesus where as before she had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease for years.  When she died I sang her favorite song when walking outside, "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" when the chorus started I would cry because it says, "I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free"...that free part got me every time.  She spent her last 12-18 months in a vegetative state...like a cocoon.  I see her free as a bird or butterfly now!
"This world is not our home, we're just passing through"
I hope you can spend time with your mother tomorrow...show her how much you love her and appreciate her!
Thanks for visiting today!

What a beautiful post Robin and card too! I believe too that your mother is in a better place but how can you not miss her everyday?

Robin, what a wonderful post & card! I know you miss you mom every day, even though she is free now from Alzheimer's. It is still very difficult for you I'm certain. I'm also certain your mom loved hearing you sing her favorite song! Wishing you a blessed day.

Oh my gosh, Robin, you made me cry with this post. I am going to ask our choir to sing that song - it is sooo pretty. I will think of your Mom and you. Your card is beautiful! Stunning in design, layers, image, sentiment and that pretty bow. Wonderful post and card. Hugz

I don't think I've ever seen distressing look as pretty as this :) And your coloring on the rose is just lovely! I miss my mom everyday too Robin! It's a blessing to have the hope that we will be reunited one day, isn't it?

How lovely, Robin! So shabby chic w/ the soft colors & distressed edges. Love the lace & sheer ribbon.
