Chickadee Christmas

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! Aye yi yi! What a day! It started out with what I call, a preemptive power outage. The power went out to apparently save itself from the approaching storms. The storm was actually close to 2 hours away. But our power is apparently scared of thunder even if it's not in the immediate area. This is a fairly frequent occurrence and defies any other explanation.  rolleyes So with power out, nothing much gets done (or written for blog posts) or created (cause it's like, DARK). And much later, the power comes back just in time for the storm, but hubs has to go to the Dr. BUT, the server has shut down and needs an act of congress to get it running again (we know how well that works!). For me, that means still no writing of blog posts & no access to all the pictures I need. Sigh...it's gonna be a long day.

And finally, here is the card I created to show you today. (Actually I made a few days ago, but as I said, I couldn't get to my pictures.) With all the hot temps, making Christmas cards has become a good thing. I've really been on a Christmas cards on kraft card stock kick lately. The color combo just really appeals to me. For my card, I combined the Chickadee with the Berry Branch using a little masking along the way, then I colored them in using Prisamcolor pencils. I did a little out of the box technique when I die cut w/ a square die, then doodled around the edge w/ a black Micron pen. I used another piece of kraft, stamped the versatile bg on it, then scored it like fence boards would look & used one point of a star punch to add the notches. After sponging a little distress ink on it, I stamped the Splatter Bg across it & the bird w/ white ink & white embossed for a snowy look. I also sponged the ink across the top of the fence & embossed.
I added the greeting (new!) on top of the fence along w/ a white strip I die cut w/ a stitched curve die & I punched a few snowflakes out & added them on top of the bird panel. As a final touch, I added some glossy accents to the berries, but it's hard to see here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Julie, this is soooooo pretty! I love the white on craft and your pretty bird and fence. Amazing!!! Really!!! Glad you got your power back and are able to get to everything. We lose power a lot in storms - it is frustrating. Lovely work! Very inspiring. Hugz
