Mermaid Birthday

>> Tuesday, July 7, 2015

Hi Everyone,

I was thinking about my friend's daughter Lindsey, while I was creating this card.  She turned 10 last week, and the family went to Myrtle Beach to celebrate.  She had been looking forward to the trip and I've been hearing about how she wanted to swim and collect shells, that this card seemed beyond appropriate :)

I began by coloring the Mermaid with Copic markers, fussy cutting her, and setting her aside as I continued to make the backgrounds.  Lindsey is always so bubbly and cheerful, I decided to use bright colors and the Interlocking Circles and Bubbles backgrounds,  In keeping with the round theme, I die cut the Beach Birthday Greeting stamping it with one seashell from the 4 in 1 Seashells background and adhered it with dimensional tape.

She says she loves the "diamond things" (aka, gems) I put on her cards, so I made sure I added plenty in matching colors :)  Lastly I added the mermaid herself.

Thanks for visiting us today!
