Spring Attitude

>> Wednesday, April 29, 2015

Hello! I am very excited about my first post as a DRS design team member. I just love the versatility and fun embodied in DRS sentiments and images - they make card-making really easy!

We live out in the country, but we haven't had cows, chickens, or a garden in a long time so we have been wasting all this beautiful land. We have also been wasting Spring! This year, my husband decided we should plant a small garden and all of the sudden it really feels like Spring around here.  All this blooming and greenery inspired this cute little card.

I started my card by stamping Leafy Tree Branch (395H) twice (one from the left and one from the right). Then I stamped the new It's Spring... Bee Happy sentiment and a little Bitsy Bumble Bee. I stamped the bee again, colored it, popped it up on top of the base stamp, and added some Stickles since every bee should be a little sparkly.

I used the pointillism method for coloring the background with a yellow alcohol marker (I love the color variation this method gives to a background), and then I colored the images with green and brown alcohol markers. For the background panel, I used the Lines O'Plenty background stamp. Next, I sponged some chocolate brown ink all around the edges of both panels and attached them to the white card base. To add just a little more to the card, I stamped some more leaves from the branch stamp and glued them one in a few places (ok, I admit I was covering up a few little places that weren't perfect - LOL). Inside the card, I used the lines stamp again, stamped another little Bitsy Bee, and added the Every Day Holds the Possibility of a Miracle stamp.

Hope you have been able to enjoy a bit of Spring lately - we all need it after that cold Winter!

Hugz,
Nancy
