Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well and you had a very Happy Easter! Are the kiddos back from Spring Break yet? Today's the last day of spring break in my area. It's been kind of nice not to hear that early school bus (around 6-6:30 am) every morning. Since we live on a  quiet cul-de-sac it always takes them a while to navigate it and w/ the beep-beep of the backer upper it's an attention getter. And since we're on a big hill, you can definitely hear them gunning the engine to make it up. The only thing worse is trying to make it out of our subdivision around 2:30. Almost impossible to break into the wagon train of busses. Last week I got stuck behind them w/ a car full of groceries. With having to stop at almost every house to let the kids out, that was the longest drive home I've ever experienced. Good thing I had snacks!  Kinda tough when you need to pack a lunch to get 5 miles, lol.

So my card today features this lovely angel image & greeting. While it could definitely be used for a sympathy card, I'm thinking it could just as easily be an encouragement card. I thought she would look wonderful all in white & blue so I kept the coloring simple. Since I colored her hair blonde, I used a yellow mat behind her for contrast. The rest is just die cuts. I did have to use a stamp positioner to move the lines of the greeting closer together to fit in the confined space. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used to color her. If you're wondering about the BV marker, I used it for the shadows on her face & neck. A lot of times when I'm coloring a person (or angel) with very pale skin, I'll use a light blue violet for shadows..it just seems to look better :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you haven't yet, please be sure to check out the DRS Thursday Challenge..this week make a birthday card & use the color blue somewhere on your creation!
Supplies:
paper: white, cobalt blue, butter yellow

So pretty Julie! Your coloring is gorgeous!! Thanks for the tip for the shading on skin - it's perfect and adds so much!
Loved your story on the school bus too :) I have to race to beat one every afternoon when I pick up my boys. It's amazing how much time it adds to an otherwise quick drive. I never thought of bringing snacks though :)

Love your fancy card today, Julie! Blue is my color, so that grabbed me right away, but I love the splash of yellow! She's got gorgeous hair too!

School buses...don't get me started. Living at the end of a cul de sac myself, I don't get to enjoy the beeping back up every morning (that's just the snow plows) because the buses refuse to do the turn around, I live near two schools and those long lines of buses coming down the main road can just ruin your day! I hope you didn't have any melted ice cream!

This is just lovely! Your coloring is gorgeous and I love all the delicate die cuts :)

I don't have the school bus issue on my street, but and elementry and high school are about a mile from my house. I've learned not to drive down that street around 2:30pm, or I won't make it home for dinner...lol!
