Good morning all!
Wow has it been cold lately, huh?
Well, it may be cold but we still don't have snow here.  We've had a little in the mountains a bit higher, but we need MORE!!
So, here is my Let It Snow card especially for California where we are still in drought mode.
I embossed the "Let it Snow" and the "snowflakes background stamp" with white powder and heat gun and then rubbed a bit of blue all over, wiping off the excess ink.  It shows better in real life! I then used a Spellbinders border die on it and die cut another in pink (minus the lattice part) for underneath.  The bottom layer was dry embossed with a snow type embossing  folder.  I cut my image and oval mat with Spellbinder nesties and pierced the image oval to go with the pierced border.  Before coloring the sky, I embossed some more snowflakes using the white powder again then used blue sky ink over them as well.   The image is colored with Copic Markers and Stickles was used in various places for some added sparkle including on the snowflakes on top of the card and on the image. The snowman's buttons are not coal but cookies.  My husband made a snowman this year at my sister's house (about 7 or 8 foot tall, he needed a ladder) and we used some special pink sprinkled cookies for the buttons.  It was so cute I thought I would give this snowman those cute cookie buttons too!  The scarf doesn't actually have stripes so you could put any pattern you want on it,  I just chose to draw stripes on mine.
I did do a bit of masking to make this little scene.  Snowman and sign had to be masked so that I could put the pine trees in behind them.  That is easy to do,  I usually always just stamp the image again on a post-it then cut it out for my mask.
I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday full of family, fun and crafting!
Thanks for stopping by!
