Rudolph and the Gang

Welcome!

I'm so happy to say I tried a new technique last night!  Actually it's an old technique that's been around a long time, but it was new to me!

Once I got the idea to stamp a group of all 9 reindeer I realized that I couldn't have them all facing the same direction, so I gave reversing a try.  I immediately ran into a problem because I didn't have a reversing image block, so I improvised!  I went through my stash of cling mounted background stamps looking for an image that would be mostly even (without any large spaces that would leave a ditch) to stamp on the back.  This one fit the bill (and worked perfectly!):

So I flipped it upside down and stamped our new Feeding Reindeer on the black cling side using black Versafine ink and then carefully placed it on my card, then set an acrylic block on top to press it evenly.  When I removed both the acrylic and rubber my reversed image was perfect!

Next step was to make a mask which I was able to use on both forward and reverse reindeers.  I just wiped it off and flipped it upside down on the reverse images.  Once I had all nine reindeers snacking together the rest was pretty simple - if a little time consuming to color :)  I sponged on the blue sky and added some glue and white glitter for the snow.  Last step was to stamp our From All Greeting on a separate piece of stock and oval cut it with a nestie and mount both on black.

So my advice for the week is to definitely try something new....even if it's old :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
