Christmas Village Step Card

>> Saturday, November 15, 2014

Hello everyone and good Saturday morning to you!
Today I would like to share my Christmas village in step card version.

Doing a step card made it possible to use a lot more of the village pieces.  I love all these little scene makers!  You could stamp and mask but in this case I stamped everything separately and fussy cut it all so that I could play with the pieces and decide where I wanted everything.  I started off with the two bare tree backgrounds, Vertical Triple Tree 876H and Tree Line Border 981P.  Those were my front bases.  I then stamped the village pieces: Tree store 214E,  Craft Store 101D,  Church 107D,  Slope Roof Cottage 215D, Pond with Bridge 105H, Snowman, skater and trees from 4 in 1 accessories 119D, Man walking dog from 4 in 1 accessories (2)-210G,  House one 117C,  "Christmas" From Our House to Yours greeting 120C (just the one word).
This was so much fun to make.  I used some Liquid Applique to blend the edges of card stock to the card base then heated it slightly to get it to puff up (I added glitter to it as well before heating). I Used Crystal Stickles on the bare trees (like frost), I used Liquid Pearls-white and Crystal Stickles together on the snowy roof tops, bridge and naturally growing pine trees that are covered with snow.  The Christmas tree lot trees I did not put snow on as I'm thinking the guy/gal taking care of the lot makes sure to shake the snow off, heehee!
Well, that is about it!   The hardest part about this was probably cutting out the tiny snowman and cutting around the tiny Christmas lights at the tree lot! But it was fun to do!
Have a great weekend everyone and get crafting!
