Falling Leaves

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! Leaves have just started turning here and I can't wait for all the color. Our back yard is covered w/ hard woods and we are surrounded by woods in the hills around us. Some years the color is so brilliant and that's what I'm hoping for this year. Usually about the time the trees are in full fall color, we have a big wind storm and our trees go from brilliant to looking like the one on my card over night. Right now it's a daily job to sweep all the little water oak acorns off the deck. They always fall first. Then what's left of the pecans...the ones the squirrels didn't get. Then the pecan & hickory trees lose their leaves, then the maples & dogwoods, and lastly the various oaks. The sweet gum & red buds are somewhere in there, too. Yep..we have a LOT of trees! Hope the leaf blower is in good working order.

So since the tree on my card has only a few leaves left, I used a fall colored background. It's actually a small piece of left over melted crayon background I had and it was just big enough for this image. I had another small piece of yellow w/ some shimmer spray on it so I stamped the moon again on it, fussy cut it and attached it over the base image. After die cutting it, I added a black layer and punched one side w/ a leaf border. The trimmed off piece was used on the right side of the greeting along w/ a couple of narrow trimmed off pieces of the crayon piece. I used the leaf border punch to punch some extra little leaves to have floating around the greeting. I also used a fine tip sharpie to draw in a few more leaves around the tree.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a brilliant weekend!
