Birthday Greetings

>> Monday, August 11, 2014

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all enjoying your last days of summer. School is about to start back up here in Ohio and that automatically makes me think of autumn and falling leaves. I love the colors of fall. Today I have a clean and simple birthday card with a fall theme to share with you.

I started by creating the leaves. I'm just beginning to experiment with Gelatos and decided to use various shades of yellow and orange to create these leaves. I just rubbed on the colors in random places on the CS and used a baby wipe to blend the colors. Once it dried I stamped the Open leaf in Memento Black ink and fussy cut them out. While waiting for the gelatos to dry, I stamped the Birthday Greeting in Memento Black on white CS and dry embossed it with a SB leaf folder. Some orange ribbon was added and the leaves arranged on top of that. Some gel dots finish it off.

Be sure to check out this week's challenge to use Chevrons and Arrows on your cards. You can see details here. We'd love to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by today,
shelia

Shelia, those leaves are so pretty! I'll have to give gelatos a try now that I've seen what you've done with them!
