Birthday Bubbles

>> Monday, June 2, 2014

My card today features our two newest Leonard the Pig stamps: Leonard Pig Blowing Bubbles and Leonard Behind the Bubble. I had a lot of fun working with these two stamps and thought they went well with this birthday greeting.

I started by stamping the Leonard blowing bubbles with Memento Black ink on white CS and coloring him with Copics. I used my circle nestie dies to cut a circle in the upper right hand corner of this panel and then added the blue ring, after sponging the sky in with Bashful Blue ink. The second Leonard was stamped onto another piece of white CS and positioned so he'd show through the "bubble." He was also colored with Copics. The birthday greeting was divided into two parts and stamped directly onto the main panel with black ink. Some Memento Bamboo Leaves and TH Antique Linen inks were sponged around the grassy area. Clear dew drops were added to the lower right hand corner and everything is attached to the Bashful Blue card base. I decided the bubbles needed something, so I sprayed some Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist onto an acrylic block and used a small paint brush to paint some of the shimmering mist onto the bubbles. It's hard to see in the photo, but the bubbles do sparkle in real life.

This week's challenge is Holey Moley - used tiny holes on your card. We'd love to have you join the fun. You could be the winner of an awesome prize. You can see details here.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Until next week,
shelia
