Leafy Thanksgiving Greetings

Happy Fall Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! Today I have a Thanksgiving card to share. The triple image block and greeting are actually all one stamp...I just separated the greeting and stamped it directly on the card front. The blocks were colored, cut out and layered on a black deckled long rectangle.

The bottom looked really empty and I had this big layered leaf punch (it does a whole leaf, the stem, the inside and the border) so I punched a bunch of them, colored them w/ Copics then arranged them as you see w/ a few sequin accents.

Bet you thought I'd forget to add a little story. Au contraire mon ami, which about the extent of my French, since I took Spanish in school. When I was taking the pic of the Copics I used, I scratched my head in wonder..."I used ALL of these?" I also talk to myself when I'm pretending I speak French. And that reminded me of a conversation I had w/ my daughter when she was about middle school age. On laundry day, she brought me this HUGE bundle of her clothes. "Ummm...how could you possibly have this many dirty clothes in one week," I asked. She shrugged. "Are you sure these are ALL dirty?" (Picture me w/ one disbelieving eyebrow raised.) "Pretty sure" she replied. "Either from wearing 'em or walking on 'em."  I shouldn't have been surprised. Somehow we failed to properly explain the function and usage instructions of a clothes hanger to her. Sigh..

Thanks so much for stopping by! May all your clothes be on hangers!
Supplies:
paper: white, black
ink: Memento tuxedo black
accessories: Copic markers, layered leaf punch (EK Success), sequins

Fun card Julie! You're coloring is perfect! I can practically smell the fall air and hear the crunch of the leaves!

This is probably my favorite Julie story yet - that's one smart kid!!

Your card is just beautiful; but your story is fantastic! Thank you for reminding me that this "empty nest" ain't so bad after all...no more washing clean laundry! lol!

Hugs,

Chriss
