Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! I was thinking about a 5k run I used to do when we lived in Texas. It was called the Turkey Trot and was held in the fall.  Anyway what brought up the Turkey Trot was this morning I'm in the kitchen and my 2 parrots are on their window perches overlooking the back yard and the woods. Now we have a lot of creatures stroll into our yard from the woods...a family of deer regularly stop by...fox..coyotes..bobtail cat...a family of crows come daily...a hawk has been here frequently scoping out the bird feeder until the crows chase him off. But this morning, Linus (the bigger parrot) starts having a fit. "Linus, you're all right". Usually at this point he'll stop and repeat "all right". That's one of his favorite phrases because he's kind of a Nervous Nellie and we have to remind him he's all right. Not this morning. Finally I look out the window and WOW! There is a flock of wild turkeys trotting into our yard. They stopped to see if there was anything good to eat..one fanned his tail... then they all ran into the woods. I never knew how fast they were. Talk about a turkey trot! I'm sure Linus was astounded..he'd never seen birds that big, lol.

Anyway, this card was inspired by a Splitcoast challenge this week...to make a Holiday card featuring a pet. I don't have any cats (yeah, that would be great fun for our birds, lol), but I do have this fun kitty image and it was pretty easy to make her a Christmas kitty. After stamping her, the greeting and the ornament branch, I colored them w/ Copics. I added more of the little starry things from the greeting over the bg because I had to cover a smudge. So I just played them up w/ some color and a little stickles. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used to color everything.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
Supplies:
paper: white
ink: Memento tuxedo black
accessories: Copic markers, stickles, red rhinestones

Julie, you are the BOMB! What an awesome card! And such perfect coloring too - it looks like I could push that kitty off and have a seat myself! I'm also groovin' on the inked-up stars!

Oh wow! Love how you turned this into a Christmas version. My first thought was that this was a ready-made stamp set but you sure did it all by yourself. Great work and the outcome is stunning!

Hugs from Finland,
Eemeli
