Pine Trees

>> Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Hi Everyone,

Don't laugh, but this card took me about 3 hours to make.  No joke.  I tried stamping and coloring these DoubleTall Pines in a long line and just wasn't loving my marker skillz. Trust me, it had to be trashed.  Sooo...It was on to my next tried and true trick.  Paper piecing. Surely this would be just what I needed to make these lovely trees come to life.  I stamped white snowflakes on green paper and painstakingly cut them out.  And....meh.   I swear these were all awesome ideas in my head, and in my minds eye the cards were fabulous.  In real life, not so much.

So, behold.  I give you CAS :)

I added glittery Stickles to the trees, and after stamping and cutting out the Miles Apart Greeting, I stamped the cardstock with some pale pink hearts using the Interlocking Heart Background, finishing it off with those heart gems in the corner.  Even though it's simple, I did end up liking it a lot.  If I had only started with this idea first...lol!

Thanks for visiting today, and I hope you can join us for this weeks challenge.  The theme is PIGS and you can link up your card right here for a chance to win!

We all have moments when the mojo just isn't there, but this turned out great! For a sentiment like this, I think CAS is best!

Karin, I'm actually glad to hear someone else has issues like this every once in a while! It happens to me more than I like to admit!! :-)

I think this turned out great. I love the little pink hearts on the side and how you stamped the interlocking hearts behind the sentiment. Very pretty!!

I think it turned out great, Karin! I love the CAS treatment and I know exactly how you feel. You'd really get a laugh if you knew how it takes me to make a card. Sheesh, 3 hrs is nada!!

Karin, this is definitely a favorite stamp of mine and you've created a real beauty with it. The soft hearts with the sentiment are perfect and I love the rhinestone heart bling.
