Thinking of You Daisy
>> Sunday, May 29, 2011
Welcome!
Unfortunately I was in need of a sympathy card this week, but I ended up very pleased with not only how this card came out, but how fast it all came together.
My original idea was to use the darker mauve as my folded card and as I was cutting the paper down I ended up with a strip slightly larger than 1" and it all just fell into place from there.
After stamping our Medium Daisy with black dye ink, I "colored" them using a white gel pen.
After adhering the strip to my card I stamped our Vertical Thinking of You using black ink and then added lavender pearl paint to the center of the flowers (the pearl paint eventually got a little smashed, but I kinda like it :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day!

Peace, Man!
>> Friday, May 27, 2011
by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff
This is a pretty easy card; I let all the peace signs do the talking. They're all stamped in a citrine pigment ink. The big kahuna was stamped and embossed on top of a scribbled marker background then die cut w/ lg circle die. The pink behind it was die cut w/ a lacy circle.
For the long inset, I used a long rectangle die to cut out a section of my background, attached it to a scallop pink rectangle and put it back on top of the opening. I added a few cut out flowers and used my SAMJ to split the sentiment into 2 lines. I used a hot pink marker to color in a few of the letters. Finished card measures 5.5 x 4.25.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Supplies:
stamps: Jumbo Peace Sign, Double Peace Sign, Small Fun Flowers, Stand Out in a Crowd
paper: white, hot pink
ink: Colorbox citrine pigment, VersaFine onyx
accessories: markers, clear embossing powder, Spellbinder circles, lacy circles, long rectangles and scallop long rectangle dies, SAMJ (stamp-a-ma-jig)

Have you checked out the latest release of images by DRS Designs? Check them all out here. I have a fun one for you today...a birthday card for young and old!
Check out Frisky Florence on my card below...she is ready to party!!!
I used one of the new birthday sentiments that was recently released...I chose to "alter" the sentiment a bit. I left off "dog" by simply cutting my stamp with a straight cut so that the parts will fit together again. This way I can stamp the image in its entirety or simply remove the word dog so that the image becomes more versatile for me. Florence was fun to color. I added a Prima flower and brad to her hat and I gave her a pearl earring. It's hard to see in my photo but I stamped the gift background in dazzle versamark ink on my olive panel.
Thanks for checking in...
See you soon...

It's "purr"fect!
>> Sunday, May 22, 2011
Welcome!
Do you ever feel like you're in a card making rut? I did this week and to turn things around I did a very long, tall, skinny card! Living on the edge aren't I??
The first thing I did was cut apart our new "Purr"fect Birthday Greeting into the 4 separate lines and line them up, 2 at a time on my longest piece of acrylic. I'm pleased to say this was my 2nd attempt to get them all straight and I said "close enough!" I also sponged on a little purple ink along the edges.
Next I stamped our Happy Sitting Cat 4 times on four separate pieces of paper and cut each one into a square that's slightly larger than 1 1/2". After coloring, I sponged pink ink around the edges and then layered them on black cs and attached them to my card.
For my ribbon I used a doubled over piece of 1/8" black ribbon. I pulled the two cut sides through the loop at the top and then folded it over and crimped it all together using a brad that I had previously embossed using cotton candy ep.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Basket of Daisies
>> Friday, May 20, 2011
by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff
My first inclination, was color all the flowers and basket. But I had the gold embossing powder sitting out and thought, hmmm. The flowers reminded me of a flower bed full of daisies we had in the house I grew up in. Loved them! So after stamping the image twice and gold embossing, I used a little bleach on the second batch of daisies, cut some out and attached them on the base image. They just give a little dimension and subtle difference in color. The gold paper behind them was cut w/ a lg blossom die.
On the background, I gold embossed the dots on top and the medium daisy bloom on the bottom. I used a lt sand marker to add just a hint of color. Finished card measures 4.25 x 5.5. Gold embossing just adds elegance to any image, don't you think?
stamps: Daisy Basket, Med Daisy Bloom, Polka Dot Background, Just Because
paper: ivory, brushed gold
ink: Encore Ultimate Metallic gold pigment
accessories: detail gold embossing powder, lt sand marker, Krylon gold leaf pen, bleach & acrylic paintbrush, Spellbinders blossom, ribbon tag and circle dies, Quickutz scallop border die

For my card I have used the spring wording square (669G) sentiment from DRS Designs. This stamp has "spring" spelled out.
I used the polka dot background (688P) stamp to create the bottom of my card and added a black border.
A pink and white ribbon completes the picture.
Hop on over to 365 cards and check out today's challenge.

Welcome!
Have you checked out our New Releases yet? Simply pop on over to our web site to see our 14 new images! It was a real decision which ones to use first, but in the end this was my favorite card!
My card today took a little planning, but I think it was well worth it! I cut out a 1 1/2" square out of the red cs and a 1 1/4" square out of the purple. I attached the purple to the back of the front of my card. I stamped only the top line of our new Drama for Mama saying under the square using black ink. For the flowers I used our Interlocking Flower Background stamp.
Outside:
It's a relative plain card till you open it up! I stamped our new Frisky Florence on white card stock, and after coloring I trimmed her so only her head showed through my front window.
Inside:
Last but not least I added the bottom line of the Drama for Mama saying again using black ink!
Have a great weekend!
I love you daisy!

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the moms out there!!! The card I have for you today is another quick and easy one and a great one to keep a bunch on hand. You never know when you will want to send a "just because" card.
Here is today's card...images by DRS Designs...
I used two new sentiments by DRS Designs, thinking of you and medium daisy.
I stamped the daisy in gray just on the corner of the card. The flowers are by Making Memories and Prima. The sentiment is raised on pop dots. I added some twine to the button flower centers...the blue twine was tied in a bow.
Have a great day!

First Holy Communion
>> Monday, May 9, 2011
I hope all you Mothers out there had a wonderful Mother's Day!
It's Jennifer here posting today to share with you a Communion card I made for my Godson. He made his First Holy Communion this past Saturday and I was so glad to see that DRS Designs had the perfect stamps so I could make him a card. I'd much rather make the cards I give away then buy them. It's a lot more fun that way too!
Happy Mother's Day!

Welcome!
We here at DRS want to wish all of the Moms viewing a Happy Mother's Day!! Relax, Enjoy and take some time for yourself today! And if you're not a Mom, we'd like to say Happy Day! Relax, Enjoy and take some time for yourself today!
My card today is for the newest Mama I know ~ Many people in our wonderful stamping world know about Marco's Papers (if you don't, you might want to check them out!). Well recently, Marco's have a new helper to train the stamping way! Bryden Michael Ihle, was born Thursday, April 28!
This is the card I made to send to my friends Karen and David at Marco's celebrating the birth of their 2nd grandchild!
Now, onto my card - I will say, I love how the ribbon border came out, but I'm gonna have to love someone an awful lot to do it again!
At this point I'd like to give my sister and co-worker Samantha a few kudo's! A month ago or so she sent everyone on the Design Team a 'centering ruler'. If you haven't heard of one before, let me tell you how easy it is to not only use, but to mark of even sections. After laying mine on my card I quickly made sure the same number was on the left and right and then used my pencil to make tiny marks to punch out using a 1/16" hole punch. It was the threading of the ribbon that took me FOREVER! And of course it was AFTER I threaded the ribbon I decided I wanted to add the green sponging ( I really recommend doing it first :) To finish up I punched out the giga scallop oval and sponged it too, then stamped, colored and cut out my Jenny Giraffe stamp and added his bow. I stamped part of our Baby Greeting using turquoise ink and taped it all together!
Thanks again for spending part of your day with us!

Bee Well (aka I Must Be Sick!)
>> Friday, May 6, 2011
by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff
The card is finished, but it took me longer to fix the things that went wrong than it would have taken to start over. Geez, Louise, I must be sick! Anyway, I stamped the new Bee Well sentiment (more than once, lol) and went over it w/ a black glaze pen. I probably should have just embossed it and saved myself the mess when the first one was ruined because the glaze pen leaked like a sieve. I guess it's a good thing c/s has a reverse side. Most everything you see is a reverse side, lol.
I stamped the Polka Dot Bg in yellow on white. Well, I did this twice, too. Note to self, do the yellow first and then do the black dots on white. Or else really clean the black ink before using the yellow ink. Back side again. These were die cut w/ mega oval dies. Had to redo the embossed die several times, too. The die kept slipping and...nevermind; it wasn't pretty.
The daisy border is a punch I did one in yellow and twice in black. The black was spread apart to make a frame for the yellow. Another note to self: double sided tape is not a good thing when it shows thru the openings in the flowers. Duh! So I had to dust it w/ my static bag to remove the sticky then use a black marker to color in where the tape showed. Except that I accidentally used a black glitter marker the first time. The final mistake was on the inside. I like to add a border or coordinating image to the inside of my cards. As I was stamping the polka dots down the side, I dropped the stamp on the top. So I had to cut out some flowers and bees to cover it up. The finished card measures 5.5 x 4.25 and is a virtual Where's Waldo of mistakes hiding in the midst. Thanks so much for stopping by and if you read all of this, you may be as persistent as I am, lol!

Supplies:
stamps: Bee Well, Polka Dot Background, Bitsy Bumblebee, Happy Bee
paper: white, black, yellow
ink: Ancient Page coal, Yo Yo Yellow
accessories: stickles, Daisy chain border punch, Spellbinders mega ovals, hole punches (for the flower centers), markers Read more...

Welcome!
A clean and simple welcome is sometimes all it takes!
It's very hard to pick up in the picture, but my ivory layer not only has some little flecks of color, it also has a wonderful grain-y texture! I stamped our new Background Branch using Vivid Vintage Green ink on the right side of my card, then inked just the stem part to do the left side. I stamped the One Line Welcome on a scrap using Vivid Taupe ink and layered it with black cs and kraft cs. I mounted the whole think on a folded hunter green card.
Thanks for stopping by!
