Snow Day! (+ Free Stamps)

Happy Friday!
Today marks my 100th post on the DRS Blog! I may be celebrating, but you could be the lucky winner of a pair of free stamps (unmounted)! Which stamps you ask? How about the fabulous snow background cute Percy Penguin I used today? All you have to do is leave me a comment here telling me your favorite thing about winter. How cool is that?

Looks like these little penguins are stealing the show this week! I think it's great that y'all get to see lots of cute ideas for these little guys. My playful pengies are having fun enjoying the day off from school because it's a Snow Day! Down here in the south, we really do have Snow Days. Earlier this year, we used up over a week of them! You guys in the north are probably laughing, but it's a big deal to us and because we just don't have the equipment to deal with it, everything pretty much shuts down. Even the largest mall in Georgia was closed for 4 days! No shopping?? Say it isn't so!

The little pengies were stamped, colored and and I hand trimmed the top to look like a snow drift. The snowflakes were stamped w/ white on the teal and w/ teal on the turquoise. A few snowflakes were die cut and stacked together. My sentiment was created out of two: Snow Doubt Birthday and the 10 Mile Father's Day. I used a positioner to line up the words and it was die cut w/ a pennant die. While the die was still in place, I sponged on the melon ink. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Can't believe someone else answered for me already! I am an avid gardener, but once all those perennials are in and things are tucked in for the winter, it leaves me with so much more time to stamp - which is good - because I haven't even started on my Christmas cards yet!!

My favorite thing about Winter is that Spring follows. Actually, I do like viewing all the snow & ice from inside my warm & cozy house. It does look very pretty. I love your card. I sure do like penguins. Our local zoo had some adorable baby ones.

Julie congratulations on your big 100 what and accomplishment, that is like three months of posts.
My favorite thing about winter is the snow. The falling snow in the moonlight, the flakes lay on the boughs of the pine trees and those that float to the ground when captured by the moonlight look like diamonds spread out in the fluff. It is the fluffy snow that is best to make a snow angel.

Happy 100th post--that's quite a feat! My favorite thing about winter is the change of seasons. I live in Virginia and we get all the seasons here, so you get to change out your wardrobe from shorts to long pants, tee shirts to sweaters, etc. Thanks for the opportunity to win these stamps; you made a really cute card with them.

Winter isn't my favorite time of the year because I hate being cold. Since it doesn't get too terribly cold in South Carolina my favorite thing is when it actually snows. I love to see those soft white flakes floating to the ground and the best is everything closes and we can watch the snow curled up in a warm house.
