Summer

>> Tuesday, August 9, 2011

Hi Everyone,

Since we are in the midst of summer, I thought I would show off my card made with the Summer Wording Square stamp.  Did you know that DRS Designs has an entire line of poem stamps for different seasons?  They are so unique and each has an image that corresponds to the time of year.  (Check out Winter and Spring too.)

I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and then my ink pad, so that I could heat set it with clear embossing powder.  I actually did it twice, and fussy cut the sun and attached it with a pop dot.  The Ribbon Dot Edger stamp kinda reminded me of those wavy lines of heat that you can see coming off the asphalt in the dead of summer, so I thought I would use it to create the background for my card.

Here is a closer shot of the summer sun, chalk shading and the bit of coloring I added with a  Copic marker.

That's it for me today.  I'm not ready for summer to be over just yet, so I hope it lingers a bit longer this year.

Have a great day!
