Let Freedom Ring

>> Wednesday, July 6, 2011

Hi Everyone,

I used an nontraditional color scheme for my card today, thinking that something like this would be a great card to include in a box going to Operation Write Home anytime of the year.

I used the new Feather Background stamp inked in white on the blue background, and then also used it inked in blue on the white.  I colored the Liberty Bell stamp to match and added a strip of paper made with the Woven Plaid stamp.  I always feel so creative and industrious when I'm able to make my own background papers from my stamp stash :)

Finally, I love that the sentiment Let Freedom Ring pairs perfectly with this stamp.  Three out of the four stamps I used on my card came from the new releases here at DRS Designs.  Stop by the store and check out all of the rest of the new stamps!

Thanks for the visit!

Here's a tip too~recycle your greeting cards, turn them over and use the clean backs to make your own background papers with your stamp stash. My kids play sports so I take a tote with me with my recycled cards, assorted stamps and inks and I make all sorts of background papers (while being a cheering mom!) and it saves time, money (waste in our landfill) AND creates a nice selection of background papers! You can get addicted to this REAL FAST! :)

I love how you did the background! Those 2 blues are perfect for each other and for that feather background. The yellow highlights are wonderful!
