To the Moon!

Welcome!

I hope you've all enjoyed some of the beautiful weather we had yesterday - it was the perfect day, well the first half anyway! I'm just glad the heat of last weekend is gone. 90° in May is just too much! It did give me the perfect reason to spend more time in my stamping room which is in the basement. I was cool as a cucumber as I stamped a couple of nights away!

My favorite card of my stamping frenzy was Spaceboy Skip (H285). It took me 3 tries to get the sentiment the right color, but he was worth it!

I started by stamping Skip on 4.5" x 5" piece of white card stock using black dye ink. Using our Star Background (H124) I stamped stars on the rest of the card stock using versamark ink and then embossed using silver embossing powder. To get the blue sky I used a dry paper towel and my Vivid brand cornflower blue, ultramarine blue and purple inks, and just rubbed on the color. I didn't mask Skip, I just tried to be careful not to get too much ink on him. I had to rub on a lot of layers to get the sky as dark as I wanted. When I was finished with the sky I colored Skip using Bic markers, then used my silver pen and colored in the stars that come with Skip (I colored over the black outline as well as the inside of the stars) and the added a few sliver accents on the rocket and Skip.

The large "planet" was a corner of kraft card stock cut with scissors then stamped with our new Out of this World birthday saying (F267) using versamark ink and then embossed using white powder. I sponged on some Vivid brand taupe and brown inks, trying to add circles for craters. Both layers are assembled on a folded blue card.

Thanks for stopping by!
