Me? Teach a Class?

>> Wednesday, April 7, 2010

I've had many new experiences as a stamper, but one I've managed to avoid all these years is teaching a class in a stamp store other than our own. I'm not sure how/why I agreed to this cause I'm VERY nervous about the whole thing!

The first part of the process was coming up with a card - not an easy thing in my mind. It had to be just right! What do you think? ~

This card is a variation of a Christmas card I did a few months back. I was very excited to see that our New Spirograph Stamp P158 fit in the center perfectly! It was designed to be a background for the Mega and Giga punch outs, but fitting in the center of the wording circle was a pleasant surprise. I think it adds an element of fun, and I loved coloring it in!

I started with a 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 square of paper. I stamped the Spirograph circle in the center using black dye ink. The Birthday wording circle is our Birthday Arc Stamp E211 stamped in the center of each side. The Mega and Giga stamps were stamped on separate pieces of card stock and then punched out. Last, but not least I stamped the Butterfly Ribbon Slide, colored it and cut it out. I slid some green ribbon through the butterfly body and then attached them all together. I added a little color to the outside edge of the circle layer by rubbing it with a paper towel that I dabbed on my blue stamp pad. A little bling between the birthday arcs and I was calling it a night!

Keep your fingers crossed for me that I don't embarrass myself, and if you live in the Akron area and would like to join us, the class will be at The Cottage Stampers in Hartville Ohio on Friday April 23rd.

DRS will also be at the John S. Knight Center in Akron for the stamp show all weekend, please come join us!!

Oops! I got ahead of myself - before we go to the Akron show at the end of April we have to visit Allentown PA for a show this coming weekend. If you're in the area, please stop by!!!!
