Halloween is almost here! Time for (at least) one more spooky card. I had a lot of fun with this Haunted House image (P058). I knew I wanted a brayered sky background, but I also wanted the moon white. So I cut a mask of the moon and house and positioned it on the white card stock. Then I used a brayer and three colors of ink. I started with the yellow, then added th
e orange at the top and finally the green at the bottom. I took the mask off, and using a stamp positioner, stamped the image with the black ink.

I stamped the terrific sentiment (D089) onto a strip I cut off of the original. The punched dots at the bottom were done using only the very top part of the fence border punch. I made faux brads by using a 1/4 inch hole punch on black c/s and some card board, glued t
hem together and used a stylus to round them like real brads.

While I was putting the pieces together, I punched some fence borders out of black, but thought they needed something. So I threaded thin strips I trimmed off the brayered back ground thru the fence. I added some thin strips of yellow behind the punched dot part of the fence then attached my borders. I think this made all the difference.

Since Halloween is just a few days away, here's another spooky card. This one is pretty quick but the high contrast black and white gives it some punch. The Spooky Tree (L070) was white embossed on black card stock and the moon only was black embossed on white card stock. I cut the moon out and attached over the base image. After I cut it out with a rectangle die, I edged it with a white marker and attached it to a larger piece of black.

The Go Batty (D090) greeting was stamped and die cut and fancy die cuts added to the ends. The white background was edged with a black marker and some score lines added before attaching to a white card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a Spooky Halloween!!

Awesome brayered background -- it's so perfect for this spooky house! The black and white card is so striking, too; the tree makes a great white silhouette!!
