A Springtime Birthday Greeting

Welcome!

I can't believe another Saturday is already here - time is really flying this spring! I have another fairly quick card for you today, full of spring butterfly's and flowers.

These are the stamps I used in my card ~

I started my card by stamping a white piece of cardstock with my butterfly corner stamp, using black pigment ink in the top left and bottom right corners, then embossing with clear embossing powder. I used a corner rounder on the remaining 2 corners.

I colored the butterfly corners using Bic markers, then dry rubbed turquoise ink on all the edges. Using a craft blade I cut the bottom curves of both butterfly's. I then stamped the butterfly birthday saying, using spring green dye ink on a separate piece of white cardstock, trimmed it to 1/4" of the design and dry rubbed all edges using soft pink ink. Applying a small piece of tape to the back, I pushed the two corners under the butterfly corners and after centering, I pushed down to adhere the tape to the butterfly layer.

To make the pink flower background layer, I stamped the center of each side of my medium pink cardstock with the flower border, then stamped the 4 corners with the single flower, all using versamark clear ink. After embossing with clear embossing powder I brushed on a subtle chalk coloring for the petals and leaves, then colored the center of each flower using a white pen then going over it with a sparkle pen. I adhered all to a square purple folded card.

Thanks for stopping by and now onto ~

Your Tip by Julie H. - My tip is for using stamp positioners, I stamp my image on vellum and keep it with the stamp then when I need to use it it’s ready to go and I get perfect positioning every time. (I save the masks I make by taping them to the top of my stamps too!)

My Trick - Want to add a little pizazz to a cutout image? Place small images face down on clear packing tape, rub firmly, then cut around image to give it a laminated look, then attach to your card. The shine really adds a pop!

Please send in your tips and tricks by emailing me at submitdrs@yahoo.com - I'm sending out some serious (new release) blog candy for all tips that I use! Don't miss out!!!!!

I agree! And it is cheaper to use packing tape .
